Today, following the conclusion of a capacity building workshop on the National Emergency Telecommunications Plan (NETP), Rwanda launched the National ICT Cluster; marking a major step forward in strengthening national resilience. Bringing together key stakeholders across government, regulators, security agencies, humanitarian partners and the private sector, the initiative will enhance coordination, interoperability and real time information sharing in emergencies.
The Cluster will also drive the development and validation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), a national ICT contingency plan and continued capacity building; ensuring faster and more effective disaster response across the country.
