Happy National Black Bear Day! Although she looks adorable close up, I promise she looks even cuter from a safe distance. Black bears are residents of our park and are a common sight to see on your hike.
The search has been called off after two callers reported that it was them and that it was part of joke. The timeline and location of their report was confirmed and responders are leaving the area. Please know that calls for help are taken very seriously.
PFA, Larimer County Emergency Services, UCHealth, & Lory State Park Rangers are performing a search in Lory State Park after a hiker coming down Arthurβs Rock Tr. reportedly heard someone yelling for help. More information to come.
As Miller Moths migrate into our homes we want to remind you that they are pollinators and are also an essential protein snack for many other wildlife species (like bats!) Here's a photo of a Cecrops Eyed Silk Moth to help get rid of your moth heebie-jeebies.
