BREAKING: The US Marines have detained a US citizen in Los Angeles. This is the first time in known US history that the marines have been used in this way to detain an American without the Insurrection Act being invoked.
The Posse Comitatus Act (1878) Prohibits the use of the U.S. military (Army and Air Force, and by extension Navy and Marines under DoD policy) to enforce domestic laws without explicit Congressional or constitutional authorization.
In other words, Trump is breaking the law once again.
New Zealand Radio did a great piece about our search for the missing reels of Orson Welles’ The Magnificent Ambersons.
In the interview, I talk about Welles’ struggles in Brazil and where we’re at with finishing up our doc The Lost Print.

Friedkin and I had some pretty great talks about our love for Orson Welles and RKO’s evisceration of Ambersons.
But he always held out hope that the original version, the “Holy Grail of Cinema” as he coined it, is still out there. RIP Billy.

Friedkin was a master storyteller and innovator.
The Exorcist is STILL terrifying to this day. The French Connection took action to another level. And audiences are just now discovering the sheer brilliance of Sorcerer.
We’ll miss you, Billy!

@LostPrintMovie was honored to have @WilliamFriedkin as one of our key advisors in our search for the original version of Orson Welles’ The Magnificent Ambersons.
He was a brilliant and influential member of the American wave of New Hollywood filmmakers in the ‘70s.
RIP Billy

Excited to be speaking Wednesday, 7/19, at @FreeLibrary of Philadelphia about Orson Welles & Magnificent Ambersons. Also thrilled to learn about Wine Down Wednesday at the Kite & Key. Hear the latest on @AmbersonThe reconstruction and @LostPrintMovie! https://t.co/XaUJttBjjE
1/ Congrats to Brian for finishing his long in the works animated reconstruction of Ambersons.
It’s quite a feat and along with Roger Ryan’s reconstruction from years ago makes an important contribution in terms of understanding Orson Welles’ original vision.
We are pleased The Lost Print was mentioned in this Guardian story over the weekend.
It’s about filmmaker Brian Rose’s terrific reconstruction of the original version.

Bottom line: we're getting there, but as Orson could tell you all too well, there's this little thing called money and filmmaking on the indie level takes that and time. But...
