$XION - The first chain abstraction L1

XION is a L1 focussed on account abstraction: tackling the problem of UX in crypto.

It’s one of the biggest issues and hurdle in crypto as it’s hard to onboard normies onchain (wallets/seedphrases are all too difficult). There is a reason why the Ethereum Foundation has been putting emphasis on chain abstraction. It was also one of the biggest topics during conferences last 2 years.

Now, it seems that XION is the first one in that segment with a L1 token. First moving advantage. Kind of reminds me of Ondo (RWA): under the radar launch followed by crypto natives recognising the big names tied to it.

This is the same case with XION: they are working together with web2 companies like Uber / the north face. These companies did a campaign on XION in order to test the chain abstraction capabilities for users (customers)

Their approach is extremely unique: instead of focussing on latency (which so many L1’s are doing) they simply focus on consumer adoption.

It has backing of big names like Multicoin / Circle / Mechanism. It’s also the first chain to have integrated usdc. After doing research, I came across the fact that Multicoin has doubled down in every XION round. This kind of confirmed to me that Multicoin has conviction in XION. Yesterday, a list of Multicoin bags got shared around and it seems that XION is missing in it (and clearly not priced in).

After hopping in their discord and TG, I also saw a quite culty community which is always good to see. Founder comes across as a very energetic guy with a milady pfp. Knows how to attract attention to himself from what ive seen.

Lastly, and an important point: XION didn’t enable to possibility for staking locked tokens with inflation. This was a huge problem for ‘’new’’ projects of last/this year: it actually repelled people from buying the token because of that reason. The fact that they recognised this, means that there is no token unlock till next year. No tokens can be dumped on retail as all circulating supply is the airdrop itself. Another sign how the team seems to care about tokenholders (community aligned, something most tech coins lacked).

70% of the airdrop went to the community. Rest of it went to native communities like milady / tensorians / injective / monad / bera etc.

This means that at a price of 5 dollar, the mcap is roughly 130m. That’s assuming the supply is all claimed and nobody is staking. I expect the float to be rather 3-5 % of the total supply.

With no unlock for 12 months from now, we are currently looking at a 130m valuation for an L1 with first moving advantage. I don’t see how this won’t pump as we are in a bullmarket (Risk mode on). I’m planning to exit at around 500m-1b as this is reasonable imo.
