Today I'm supporting #CTCNow Day of Action. The expanded Child Tax Credit has made a real difference in helping parents and families afford the costs of raising a child and giving all of our kids the opportunity to succeed.
We should have never let the Child Tax Credit expire and should not cut taxes for corporations without cutting them for families.
We’re calling on Congress to reinstate this lifeline before the end of the year. #CTCNow
The expanded #ChildTaxCredit was a lifeline for so many families in Washington state—AND it helped lower child poverty rates in this country by 40%.
It was a simple yet incredibly effective policy & I’ll keep pushing to extend it. #CTCNow
Stephanie used her #ChildTaxCredit checks to cover her baby formula while there was a national shortage!
#ShareYourChildTaxCreditStory w/ @MomsRising on how it would impact you if Congress were to expand the CTC at the end of the year! https://t.co/KKqZEzu4np #CTCNow
How has your family been helped by the #ChildTaxCredit & how would it impact you if Congress were to expand the CTC at the end of the year?
#ShareYourChildTaxCreditStory to tell elected leaders to make the expansion of the CTC continue! https://t.co/ks9Zovx3l6 #CTCNow
Text CTCNow to 747464 or call 1-888-496-4842 to talk to your Congressmember’s office and demand they extend the expanded #ChildTaxCredit to continue to support a necessary lifeline for families! #CTCNow
45% of MT kids would be lifted out of poverty if the #ChildTaxCredi had been made permanent.
Let’s continue to support families by texting CTCNow to 747464 or call 1-888-496-4842 and tell our Senators to extend the CTC! #CTCNow

91% of low-income families used their monthly enhanced #ChildTaxCredit checks to cover the cost of basic necessities like housing, food, utilities, and clothing to ensure their children have healthier, more stable environments. https://t.co/eAZt4eyCjh #CTCNow
It’s estimated that the enhanced #ChildTaxCredit:
📈Boosted consumer spending by $27 billion
📈Generated $1.9 billion in revenues from state and local sales taxes
📈Supported the equivalent of over 500,000 full-time jobs.

Also, parents didn't work less. Entrepreneurship increased. Drug use decreased. And parents sold less blood plasma and took out fewer payday loans.

And the cost arguments against it are just dumb.

Restore it immediately! #CTCNow
The U.S. long had a higher level of child poverty than other wealthy countries b/c we have failed to invest in our children. This dismal trend changed in 2021 when we made significant improvements to the #ChildTaxCredit. Congress must renew the #CTCNow. https://t.co/RD8cwEMPWQ
Last night on @TheProblem, we heard stories from moms describing how the #ChildTaxCredit helped them pay off medical expenses, cover school supplies, even move to better housing. @jonstewart's frustration is fitting if Congress cannot renew this essential cash program for kids.
Poverty isn’t an inevitability — it’s a policy choice. Our government can choose to put families first, not the corporations that continue to rake in record profits while kids go to bed hungry.
We’re calling on Congress to prioritize our children and vote #CTCNow.

I was finally able to afford putting my daughter in gymnastics, she had been asking for months! @marcorubio I know you like supporting American families....vote to bring back the #Childtaxcredit! 🇺🇸❤️👨👩👧
Over the next month – as we approach winter holidays & New Year’s - we will see if policymakers’ commitment to families that have a hard time affording the basics is real. https://t.co/EySlDRtE1H
