During the UK election campaign I noticed that nobody was talking about the areas central to the work done by @CAST_Centre (cars, flying, diet, heating).
AND, as a qual researcher, I love analysing party manifestos.🤓
Hey presto! This resulted in a blog! https://t.co/JNsYaHF0Cj
The British public are pretty clear on how they see those involved in the recent riots.
"Thugs", "Rioters", "Racist", and "Far-right" are words a majority of Brits would use.
"People with legitimate concerns" is chosen by just 16%, while the "far-left" is picked by just 7%.
Proud to have worked on this under the superb leadership of @LucasGeese!
We highlight the need for TADA researchers to have a sufficient qualitative understanding of climate politics and policy in the country cases they study to overcome conceptual challenges
Big thanks to my co-authors: @chantalS_T@_johnkenny Andy Jordan and Irene Lorenzoni. Also a shout-out to the wider DeepDCarb Team @SimonSchaub5@jale_tosun@DrBrendanMoore Christin Heinz-Fischer, Joan Enguer and Emiliano Levario (https://t.co/1dqOudWhfP)

To address this, we – colleagues at @Brussels_School@ueaenv & @Politics_SAI – have conducted this review. We find a relatively small, interdisciplinary, yet growing research area. Crucial research gaps are identified and unpacked.
The @CAST_Centre has published "How not to transform: Learning from the backlash against low-carbon heating policy in Germany" has been published" written by Andy Jordan, Irene Lorenzoni, Lucas Geese, and Dr. Chantal Sullivan-Thomsett

As @energygovuk officials give evidence to @CommonsPAC on government's plans to decarbonise home heating, some politicians and policymakers may want to learn from what happened in Germany in this policy area.
Our new @CAST_Centre briefing does just that!
