@Markmanson These folksy pop psych absolutes drive me batty. There is nothing inherently wrong with short-term comfort and it does not necessarily have any impact on long-term satisfaction. The Marcus Aurelius quote you're paraphrasing only cautions against letting it become an addiction.
@BobbyAllyn Your reporting has seemingly been on the mark here, but the the kicker was lame and its weirdly spiteful tone only lends credence to the hit job accusations.
@Pearl_Donut@DreamsOfTaos@BobbyAllyn@benryanwriter@drewharwell@RossBarkan Per DOJ website:
While most "infringements" are civil, some civil infringements can cross the line into criminal activity. For example: Copyright Infringement: Usually civil, but can become a federal crime if the infringement is willful and done for commercial advantage.
@QueensCrapper@BillyJack20522 That might hold water if there weren't other blocks of copy in the piece lifted verbatim from the same writer without hyperlink or any form of citation.
@parismartineau@ConsumerReports I'd suspect that a big part of the spike in protein shake consumption is due to the increasing ubiquity of GLP-1 medication, for which people are advised (frequently by doctors) to consume shakes to offset perceived muscle loss due to the meds.
