@LazyMocha1 If The Law of Regression *only* means that all things yearn to converge, then how does it imply that Goldmask's ending means the oppression of races will end? You have to make a choice because your argument is starting to become internally inconsistent
Goldmask's ending is, in my opinion, the worst (as in not good for the LB) in the entire game, and I love how on its surface it sounds great when you don't think too much about it.
I will start my explanation of what makes it horrible with a simple question: Should history end?
@LazyMocha1 Ancestral Followers, the Nox Civilization, those who live in death, and the Albinaurics. All of these can't be integrated into the Erdtree for different reasons from the Omen. How do you explain the fact that the Law of Regression is implied to exclude these people?
@LazyMocha1 I can see your case more clearly now (thank you for the elaboration), but I still just don't see how re-integrating the law of causality would change these things. Also there's more examples than just the Omens of beings which can't/won't be integrated into the Erdtree:...
@LaughingHelm There will always be people who want to do the right thing, they're just rare to see in TLB because the Golden Order (and the Crucible before that) is a system which tends to disempower such people
@CandyyAshes It's a change but you can see how it doesn't actually change the social relations the Golden Order creates, no? If you don't want to do that then that's understandable, it just also makes you a bit of an unempathetic piece of shit
"Omens are bad because they're cursed". If you really think you should follow this line of thought, would you be interested in what Mormons (and many other Christians) used to say about black people? You're struggling to grasp even basic metaphors about racism.
@Lugganathcel >Omens
The omens are Cursed capital c. They literally are morphed body and soul into violent ogres
>Albinaurics
Will die off since no one in LB are making new ones
>Misbegotten
Doubt they can integrate into any society
These are not good examples.
@spanningoceans@rubentoteles People are shaped by the world as much as they shape it, and they change over time. Of course the flaws of the Golden Order would shape her as well.
Also you seem to be leaning into Great Man Theory (lol)
@LazyMocha1 1. And what about the Omens, which the Erdtree rejects?
2. I know the definition of causality as a word. How did you even get the idea that Marika removed it? I haven't seen squat about that.
3. I also can't see any evidence for that, it looks like he came to TLB alone by choice.
@Mad_Alien_Art@snloompy My point about makes Goldmask's ending so uniquely bad is that it seems to lock the world this way forever. I get Dung Eater's is bad, but at the very least it doesn't do that
From this post I've learned that ~99% of Goldmask fans don't defend him for who he is and instead pretend he has the exact same beliefs as them with no evidence (but many hallucinations ๐ซฉ) in support of these claims

@LaughingHelm I get where you're coming from, but if you play the game (and especially SotE) enough it keeps hitting you on the head that the reason things keep getting worse is because Gods and Demigods kept taking it upon themselves to fix these varying issues instead of leaving it to-
@guiltiestofsin@SCorundar I'm pretty sure releasing the rune of death only allows the Erdtree to burn, but it doesn't re-integrate it to the Elden Ring (you need Fia's mending rune for that)
