Lady in MAGA shirt was in line behind me at the store, on her phone, all loud and obnoxious, then said to whoever, “I’m so into Game of Thrones, I’m on season 4.”
I paid, looked at her and said:
“Jon Snow kills Daenerys and Arya kills the Night King, have a great day.”
Thanks mike! A few quibbles:
They are pearls. Nobody is bringing in $20 mil (until daddy Ellison buys us) Burritos are a little pricey. The orange man is very bad.
No. A senator's beliefs matter far more than their identity. But the prospect of a senator named Abdul does make me smile. As would a senator named Baruch. Because it reminds us that, no matter what J.D. Vance says, we who practice minority faiths and whose families came recently to these shores are not guests in America. We are its owners too.
Russia tried to blow up 2 planes in Germany last night with drones. One flew right into a DHL cargo jet as it was attempting to land. Then another drone hit a parked AN-124. These are terrorist attacks calculated to kill. Wake up people.

Let's be clear about what this means. It means @AIPAC will support a candidate who will almost certainly help Donald Trump try to overthrow any election that Trump and the GOP loses. It means @AIPAC prioritizes unconditional support for Israel over the survival of liberal democracy in the United States https://t.co/NylgkUEUjS
NEW: Regarding the claims that Rep. Max Miller withheld his toddler's "blue bunny," I have some new screenshots suggesting there was a pattern of Miller not giving the bunny back. There were pleas from multiple people on multiple dates. (Thread: 1/?)
I’m old enough to remember when we used to call examples like @AbdulElSayed “The American Dream”
Michigander born to immigrants, attends UM, then Oxford on Rhodes Scholarship & Columbia for his MD.
His commencement address mentions:
“…audacity to believe we can change this world…”
El-Sayed: There are people like J.D. Vance or Donald Trump or Mike Rogers, who wanted to define America as being too small to include some kinds of people, and they point to my name, they point to my faith, they try to insinuate that somehow I'm less American because of those things. But I've put myself forward asking my state to give me their stake in democracy, to allow me to serve them. And there is no greater, I think, call than to ask your fellow Americans to give you their stake in democracy.
They want America to be small. I believe that America is big. It's open minded. It's big hearted. It can include any of us, regardless of how we pray, regardless of where our families come from, regardless of who we love or how we identify. That's the America we're building. And I think America in Michigan in particular, has an opportunity to remind us just how big we are.
I appreciate AIPAC proving it doesn’t belong in the Dem Party and especially our primaries.
From endorsing Jan 6th members to ensuring Congress remains in the hands of a 34-count felon, AIPAC is an org committed to undermining democracy at home and abroad.
See you in November.
A few thoughts from Michigan the day after . . .
* Dems are coalescing around Abdul quickly - a good sign, but lots more work to do. Pete Buttigeig is leading the big rally Friday, and Gavin Newsome will be here Sunday. Haley was tremendously gracious and Gretchen did the same.
* True to form, "Mar-a-lago Mike" (remember, he lives in Florida, not Michigan), goes all in on Islamophobia and cannot lay out an agenda because it's Trump's, and that's toxic. But in an election and a state that's hungry for solutions, banging the 911 drum and calling Abdul an Islamic terrorist will only go so far. If Mar-a-lago Mike can't articulate what he's going to do for the people of Michigan, he's toast.
* Abdul is going to have to lean in heavily to 3 groups to win this: African-Americans, blue collar workers, and Jews (I live in that community and there is a lot of fence-mending to be done - he needs to go to Shul this weekend and have a serious meeting with Jewish leaders . . . quickly)
* Mallory McMorrow has emerged as the smart, calm leader we all expected - pay attention to her impact on this race (and I keep hearing low-level buzz about Jocelyn Benson selecting her as her running mate).
* Oh, and polls are obviously bullshit.
* Lots more happening, but things are fluid and as passions abate, we will get a clearer sense of where this is heading.
That's it. Sorry for the long post. But lots going on here, and it's only 8am
@AbdulElSayed@MichiganDems
El-Sayed: "Mike, I'm gonna say it right now, I know you're gonna say no because you're a coward: Five debates, alright? If you're willing to stand with me and have a conversation, you and I both know that you will wither in front of your own crimes. But I'm gonna make sure Michiganders know about them. By the time we're done, you are not gonna have safe quarter from people holding you accountable to what you've done for them here in Michigan. We will send you back to Florida where you belong."
Collins: We've heard some Democrats who are worried that you cannot defeat Mike Rogers come November.
El-Sayed: We don't need worry. We need work. Democrats worrying is not going to solve the problem. You heard Donald Trump at the top of this show. This is a guy who can't even focus on our affordability. He's more interested in saying my name and an interesting way, or calling me a lovely gentleman than he is interested in actually solving our problems. We have to stand up to that, which means let's go get to work
El-Sayed: So Mike, I know you’re listening—we’re coming for you… He's both the worst of the NeoCon era and the worst of the Mage era. You should know who you are. But I promise you, Mike, by the time we are done with you, all of Michigan is going to know who you are.
"I love Judaism and I love the Jewish people.
AIPAC and Israel are not the same as Judaism
The most dangerous thing is expanding antisemitism to include criticism of Israel"
- Abdul El-Sayed Michigan Senate Candidate 2026
Absolutely Correct!
🚨A MAN OF CHARACTER: Abdul El-Sayed after winning Michigan’s Democratic Senate primary:
“However much we might disagree with our Democratic opponent, there is so much more that unites us than divides us.
Tomorrow, we begin to mend fences.
Whatever happens tonight, we have a responsibility to unite and make sure Mike Rogers never sees the inside of the U.S. Senate.”
El-Sayed: "Mike Rogers is a guy who wants to put a data center in your backyard so he can make himself feel a little more manly by making an AI video ... he's a guy who went back to Florida so he could lick every single boot Donald Trump owns to bet for his endorsement."
🔥Dr. @AbdulElSayed truth rocket 🚀 on @Morning_Joe: “I’m committed to Jewish safety— I just don’t believe in unconditional military aid to any country, especially when 🇮🇱 is committing genocide/apartheid. OUR kids have a right to our tax dollars. I believe in international law.”
