2021: My dad and I finally make the trek to AT&T Stadium to watch the Cowboys lose in heartbreaking, last-second fashion 23-17 to the 49ers… and I catch COVID.
2022: My parents and I decide if Dallas wins were going to Philly… and we lose again to the 49ers 19-12.
My miserable life as a diehard Cowboys fan, a thread 🧵:
2006: My first season watching NFL and playing youth football, Dallas loses 23-21 in the Wild Card when Romo infamously fumbles the hold on a chip-shot field goal… and I cry myself to sleep in my Cowboys-themed bedding.
2016: After going 13-3 in Dak’s rookie season, the Cowboys once again lose to the Packers in the Divisional 34-31.
2018: After a stellar year as the NFL’s rushing leader, Ezekiel Elliot inexplicably posts 47 yards on 20 carries as the Cowboys lose 30-22 to the NFC Champion Rams
Which is made all the more perplexing when considering that I drank Diet Mountain Dew like it was water for the better part of a decade, and was at one point a beer bong guy
@SabrinaMBetts “Congresspersons”…
The official plural terms— “members of Congress” when speaking generally, and “senators” or “representatives” when specifying— are already gender-neutral.
What’s made being a Cowboys fan for the last twenty years uniquely miserable is that they always seem to be just good enough to deceive you into thinking that this year is gonna be different…
Well they’ve got me again 🤘🏼🤘🏼
If the Dems end up losing the House, I think it can be said that they lost it in New York: they blew redistricting, and then they badly underperformed a still-very-winnable set of districts, even while faring well elsewhere
No evidence of a red wave yet outside Florida. Gretchen Whitmer is blowing Dixon out of the water in #MIGov based on initial returns, Hassan is doing well in #NHSen, and Beasley, while still likely to lose, is surprisingly strong in #NCSen.
As a pollster for going on two decades who has been deep in the weeds of pre-election polling analysis, all I can say about this election is that I have never been more uncertain about an outcome. Anyone who says they know what's going to happen should be treated skeptically.
