Every family eats every day, but fewer homes still know how to cook the foods our grandmothers cooked.

The Afrikan woman who can teach indigenous cookery holds knowledge that the supermarkets and online eateries cannot sell.

Currently, two things are being lost at the same time:

• The knowledge of how to prepare indigenous foods,

• The health that came with eating them.

Modern women can follow a foreign recipe on a screen, but cannot prepare the millet, the managu, the arrowroot, the fermented porridge that their own land grows.

Households buy cheap processed food, and in the end, the body pays for it, consequently, with chronic metabolic diseases.

When an older Afrikan woman teaches younger women to cook indigenous food, she restores a family's diet and passes down knowledge that would otherwise die with the old.
