Got the opportunity to ask Enrique Bradfield Jr. about how playing in the SEC would help with his transition to professional baseball. Here’s his response:
Can someone inform the Orioles “pitching strategy” coach that there are three outs in an inning? Unbelievable that some dude is getting paid to put together this plan.
McDonald perfectly summed up what Orioles fans have dealt with for the last decade-plus. “The Orioles don’t” and they haven’t since they got swept by the Royals in the ALCS 12 years ago.
MASN analyst Ben McDonald on the postgame show: "You either do or you don't. And right now, the Orioles don't. They are not doing it and they're not playing well right now. That's the bottom line."
Meanwhile, Coby Mayo, Samuel Basallo, and Dylan Beavers - the O’s top three
hitting prospects from last year - are on pace to slash .144/.267/.231 with an impressive .498 OPS. We were sold a lie about the talent of these players.
Pete Alonso, Taylor Ward, and Tyler O’Neil - the Os three big RHH acquisitions - are on pace for a combined 29 home runs. That’s less than any one of them had in their last season before coming to Baltimore. This franchise is cursed.
Only the Os could take this much talent and turn it into a losing team. How many hitting coaches can you go through before someone can successfully teach a bunch of “top prospects” how to hit left-handed pitching? It’s truly mind-boggling.
@APlusBrackets@AdamKellyFA Vandy just won back to back games against strong opponents and proceeded to move 0 spots in the poll. So does how they are playing *right now* only matter if they lose?
@ThroneSpud Vandy beats Kentucky by 25. But Vandy can only reach the sweet 16 while “don’t let Kentucky get hot”! Some high-level analysis going on here.
@bepryor He’s gonna care when fans stop showing up to the games and wasting their money on merchandise. They have already been struggling to sell tickets… just wait until the fans get a taste of the “Coach Mike” experience.
@NextNetworkJosh Yeah we are aware. No one in Pittsburgh is happy about this. No need to rub salt in the wound when our owner and GM are already doing it.
@bepryor@JFowlerESPN@SeifertESPN@BenjaminSolak@nfldraftscout No one cares about these questions. Ask Art and Omar the real question: Why would you hire a candidate no other teams were interested in? Why spit in the face of a fanbase that you have neglected for a decade? This is a disgraceful move.
My two favorite teams (Steelers and Orioles) are now a combined 0-17 in their last 17 playoff games. I think I’ve tweeted this four or five times now and the number just keeps getting bigger.
