@jenseisert @skdh My two cents as a Canadian who did his PhD in Germany: the US and Canadian application systems were more uni-centric, which meant I knew how to apply to places I did not know anyone at, and could get into the uni without having a supervisor lined up.

Recently I’ve been fascinated by errors that emerge at scale. Like the fact that physicists’ natural tendency to procrastinate is a purely personal problem until 10000 of them have to submit their March meeting abstract at the same time.

@steve_quantum @qiskit Actually I’m no longer certain that terminal measurements behave this way in qiskit, but might be worth trying to see if it helps.

@steve_quantum @qiskit Under the hood maybe, but if you simulate a circuit with measurements at the end for 1000 shots, it will run the full simulation 1000 times. To avoid this, don’t terminate with measurements, but instead with save_probabilities https://t.co/4sCTwcy9ji

First time back in Montreal since I left in 2018. It was nice to be greeted by the traditional guard of orange pylons as we crossed the border.
