@DavidHein9@AnthonyEsolen This is important. Literature used to aim to be challenging, or conducive to growth. Now, it is largely aiming to be immediately digestible. This applies also to film and other forms of media
What IS a NATION?
It can't be an aggregate of persons living within certain geographical bounds. It can't also be such persons living under certain laws, or under a government defined by a certain structure of components with clear relations to one another. That's not enough.
What makes a people ONE? We have to begin to talk about culture, and then we run straight into questions of history, folkways, arts and letters, philosophy, and religion. I do not see how this can be avoided.
