Senior Hamas official Izzat al-Rishq says Palestinian fighters treat Israeli captives in line with religious and humanitarian values, feeding them from what they eat and drink, just like any other Palestinian under siege.

He notes that Israeli captives are now suffering from hunger and weight loss, mirroring the conditions of their captors and the people of Gaza, unlike previous prisoner exchanges where they were released in full physical and mental health.
