@CNN Dogs often get nervous and anxious when they're in an unfamiliar place. This can lead them to act more aggressive or destructive than usual. I imagine this is intensified at the White House as the tension between people is higher and there are so many new faces and smells.

Where I live after an incident like that, animal authorities place the dog under a week-long observation in their facility so they can first check if the dog is really a threat to others. Authorities understand dogs are animals with instincts.
