Horseman I: Aliko Dangote (The Fortress Builder)
If Aliko Dangote doesn't own the entire street, he doesn't buy the house.
He is the undisputed King of the NGX, controlling nearly 20% of the entire market. But his strategy isn't merely investing, it is Enclosure. He doesn't just build companies; he builds industrial fortresses.
This is how the Fortress Builder plays the game:
The Dangote Doctrine. 🧵👇
MrBeast on filming with Cristiano Ronaldo:
“When I met Cristiano Ronaldo to film, he told me: ‘Relax, don’t rush, we can film everything you need.’ That surprised me. I showed him what I had planned and we spent time together — he gave me triple the time we expected.
When we finished filming, I went to say goodbye and he asked me: ‘Do you want to come to my house and hang out?’ That surprised me again. He told me he wanted to talk. I wanted him to know he didn’t HAVE to do this, but he wanted to.
I ended up going to his house, talking, filming more videos. He gave me way more time than I needed and was incredibly kind.”
A few central themes here:
1. Never take the first “No” as a final answer
2. Be extremely unreasonable and ignore the status quo at least once or twice in your youth
3. Lean completely into your impulses while you’re young, the stakes are still much lower for you
4. Be delusional
Walmart just announced they will be opening stores in South Africa 🛒🛍️

here's an insider view into the cut-throat world of global deal-making [thread]
I made this website as a side project. It gets all the data straight from the Malawi Stock Exchange. Hopefully those who use it will find it easier to use than the mse site. Definitely open to improving and optimising it based on what people need

I believe that Africa would be a lot richer if govts believed in & empowered their own rich & business people as they do multinational corporations. Nothing against FDI & free movement of global capital, but local tycoons must be the pillars of our economies b4 any other person.
With global dynamics now showing that countries must secure the bag first for their own people before others, Africa must be soft to its own business men & women. Empower them, give them land, privileges, tax holidays, bail them out when they fall to allow them to grow the local economy.
The era of saviors of Africa from abroad may be phasing out soon. It’s time to look within. Using global technology that’s accessible and able to move at a given price, may it’s time to build industry, make drugs, textiles, ICT etc.
Africa’s relevance should not only be about its market potential that is there to be exploited by others. #nodignityinpoverty
After 1.5 years of using ChatGPT, I can say that it is the technology that has revolutionized my life the most, along with the Internet.
So here are 12 prompts that have transformed my day-to-day life and that could do the same for you.
Time intercourse with ovulation. Simple as.
I have 4 children: girl, boy, girl, boy.
This was intentional.
Of course we would have loved whoever came our way no matter what, but I read this “pseudoscientific” theory that states that girl sperm lives the longest, boy sperm swims the swiftest.
So in order to have a girl, you time intercourse before ovulation. Then abstain. To have a boy, you time intercourse to be on ovulation day and abstain beforehand.
I’ve done this 4 times now. It’s worked all 4 times. I don’t think it’s pseudoscience.
