I’ve had the great fortune of covering many international sporting events around the world.
And feeling so grateful to be in the middle of it all for this men’s World Cup match in Toronto.
Some of the most compelling scenes I’ve ever witnessed playing out here today. Enjoy it.
Canada’s March to the Match continues to work its way through the Toronto streets toward the stadiums.
Beautiful scenes as fans chant and cheer and high five fans who are lining the streets.
It’s going to be electric inside the stadium today.
A really nice moment here.
Bosnia and Herzegovina fans get caught up in the middle of Canada’s March to the Match.
And they’re being met with high fives as they pass through the sea of red.
As someone who grew up in Western New York on the border with Ontario, it was my pleasure to welcome Ontario Premier Doug Ford @fordnation to The Situation Room this week. I love Canada.
In an era of great power rivalry, Canada is choosing to be principled and pragmatic. To name reality, to act together, and to build what we claim to believe in.
In Pope Francis’s last public address, he preached care of the marginalized, the vulnerable, and migrants, saying: “I would like all of us to hope anew and to revive our trust in others, including those who are different than ourselves.” May we heed his wish.
COMING SOON: We're putting the finishing touches on the community office, in the heart of Downtown Hamilton! This office will provide community members with more opportunities to connect directly with the Hamilton Community Engagement Team about the future LRT project. #HamOnt
Shout out to @GOtransit for making my kid's dream come true yesterday!
Nicco's been playing transit simulators for the past several months and takes his routes very seriously. Having the opportunity to make the announcements on the real GO Train was such a thrill for him 💖🚆
We're giving you a front row seat to the testing of light rail vehicles happening along the Finch West LRT 🚆 Once complete, this project will be a game changer for transit in Northwest Toronto.
✨ A journey to remember! 🏁
#tb to last week when Renny triumphantly broke through the final wall, following in the footsteps of their sibling Rexy.
Both tunnel boring machines spent two years underground digging tunnels for the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension. 🚇
For the first time since Ontario became a province, Sol Mamakwa @solmamakwa, MPP of Kiiwetinoong, addressed the Government of Ontario, a signatory to Treaty 9, in his language Anishininiimowin. Sol is an Indian Residential School Survivor. He used to be punished for speaking his language, for being himself.
Today, he spoke Anishininiimowin in a packed House, witnessed by First Nations leaders, family, and, most importantly, his Mom, Kezia Mamakwa. It is her birthday today. Mino-dibishkam, Kezia. Your son is moving hearts and minds. (Photo by @NANComms)
