In Italy, authorities said Wednesday they're keeping Mount Etna's alert level at "yellow" as bursts of gas and magma continue after its latest eruption.
Footage shows lava lighting up the night sky as molten lava flows down the mountainside on the island of Sicily.
At last check, scientists say the lava has traveled nearly 1,000 feet since the eruption began Friday.
Mount Etna is the largest volcano in Europe, and while eruptions are common, they rarely pose a threat to locals.

Global health officials say more than 1,300 deaths have been linked to the record heat wave blanketing Europe.
That toll is likely to rise, as France alone reported at least 1,000 deaths above normal last week, during some of the country's hottest-ever days for the month of June.
In Berlin over the weekend, police shot water cannons to cool down sweltering crowds.
And in Budapest, Hungary, temperatures on Monday soared to more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit — far above normal, even for summer.
Meanwhile, tens of millions of Americans are also under extreme heat warnings this week. Triple-digit temperatures will bake the Midwest and East Coast as the country prepares for Fourth of July celebrations.
When something breaks, most of us replace it. At this Brooklyn repair cafe, volunteers are helping neighbors fix everything from lamps and jeans to vintage fans and old smartwatches for free. The events are part of a growing global movement to reduce waste, save money and bring back repair skills that many people say have been lost.
Heat can make people seriously ill. Knowing the signs saves lives.
⚠️Here’s what to watch out for:
Headache, dizziness, nausea, cramps, palpitations, excessive sweating or unusual tiredness.
Heat and air pollution together hit harder and for people with cardiovascular or respiratory conditions, the effects can be faster and more severe.
If you or someone you know starts to experience signs of heat stress:
❎ Slow down or stop activity, move to a cooling area, drink water. Seek help if your symptoms don’t improve.
🚨 Look for danger signs: severe headache, confusion, agitation, collapse, seizures, or not responding normally. This counts as a health emergency.
👀 If someone near you looks unwell, don’t leave them alone.
Move them to a cooling area immediately, and call for first aid or alert event staff.
🌡️ Check weather forecast and air quality levels.

26 June is a day of both immense pride and solemn reflection for the people of the Republic of Somaliland.
On this day in 1960, Somaliland attained its independence and took its rightful place among the family of nations. It remains one of the proudest milestones in our history and a testament to the aspirations, resilience, and determination of our people.
It is also a bittersweet anniversary. In the days that followed, Somaliland entered into what we regard as a hurried, ill thought out, and consequently invalid union with Somalia, a decision whose negative consequences remain a constant thorn for our people to this day.
As we commemorate the 66th Anniversary of Somaliland’s Independence, we pay tribute to those who secured our freedom, honour the sacrifices made in defence of our sovereignty, and reflect on the lessons of our history. With renewed determination, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the sovereignty, democracy, peace, and prosperity of the Republic of Somaliland.
