For me, as a Palestinian from Gaza who survived the ongoing genocide, when I look at the rubble of homes on Google Maps, I am not seeing only the remains of buildings, which from far look like a decaying wall.
I am seeing the remains of people whose bodies were crushed beneath walls and ceilings they painted with their own hands.
I see children’s toys. Books. Backpacks. Coloring pencils. An unfinished meal. Blankets. Shoes. Photo frames of grandparents whose grandchildren never met. An old key to a home in Yaffa or Haifa.
I can also hear the last words of a broadcaster on the radio before the news occurred, before the radio was broken and the family crushed.
No breaking news there. No news at all.
It has come to that: The witnesses are being prosecuted for the crime of having... witnessed the crime!
This is a warning to every European. BEWARE: As a European citizen you may be prosecuted by a EU member-state for merely documenting suspect - often criminal - acts by the authorities of an EU member-state.
The case of Tommy Olsen, and his current prosecution in Rhodes, Greece, should make us all ask again the most pertinent of questions: Who will protect us from our (supposed) protectors?
WHO IS TOMMY OLSEN?
Tommy Olsen is the Norwegian founder of Aegean Boat Report, an independent organisation established to monitor and document what happens to people crossing the Aegean Sea and arriving on the Greek islands. ABR documents arrivals, distress situations, disappearances, pushbacks and human-rights violations and provides information and
documentation to journalists, lawyers and human-rights organisations.
Olsen has been doing this important work since 2017. The criminal case concerns activities Greek authorities link to his work with refugees and people seeking asylum.
TOMMY'S PROSECUTION
The Greek authorities previously sought his surrender under a European Arrest Warrant. Olsen was arrested at his home in Tromso on 16 March 2026.
On 15 May, the Halogaland Court of Appeal refused to
surrender him.
THE NORWEGIAN DECISION
On 16 March 2026, Olsen was arrested in Norway under a European Arrest Warrant issued by Greece. Greece soughthis surrender for prosecution. On 15 May 2026, the Halogaland Court of Appeal refused surrender.
Amnesty International reported that the court confirmed that the actions for which Olsen is prosecuted in Greece are not punishable under Norwegian law and that the charges represent a "real risk of violation of his freedom of expression".
Human Rights Watch reported that the appeals court unanimously recognised that the acts described by
Greek authorities did not constitute criminal offences under Norwegian law and that surrender would risk violating
THE GREEK AUTHORITIES' CHARGES
Greek counsel has confirmed the following public wording of the charges:
1. Establishing and participating in a criminal organisation.
2. Facilitating the unlawful entry into Greek territory of third-country nationals without the legally required
border checks, jointly, in respect of multiple persons, for profit and on a professional basis.
3. Facilitating the unlawful stay of third-country nationals in Greek territory, in respect of multiple persons and for profit.
Olsen denies the charges.
LET'S END THIS TRAVESTY. PROSECUTE CRIMES. NOT THOSE WHO WITNESS THEM.
The National and Declassified followed up on this
Still nothing in mainstream media. And there never will be
The rule is: if it's not conducive to state power, it doesn't exist
Instead you get served a steady diet of state-backed scare stories about Russia and China
Another very important reason why Netanyahu should not be replaced: his replacement will be used by the West to completely erase all Israeli blame and force a reset of Israel's image, which they are extremely eager to do.
The good thing is Netanyahu will not be replaced. The Jewish opposition will never form a government with 1948 Palestinian representatives, which is their only viable path to power. This means Netanyahu's reelection is virtually 100% guaranteed. Which is a good thing: he is the ultimate character to play the undertaker for the repugnant ideological movement called Zionism
A Guardian article tells us public ownership of water is impossible and urges for alternatives. 🤥
Look who wrote it - Will Hutton, who was outed in 2023 as working with private water firms to concoct a deceptive alternative where water stays privately owned and making profits 👇
Mark Zuckerberg is trying to fix the Brazilian election in 8 days.
He has suspended the accounts of President Lula on Instagram and Facebook.
These criminals need to be in jail.
The liberal "rules-based order" –– a war criminal, boasting at the UN about a mass-IED attack, boobytrapping a global supply chain, killing and maiming Lebanese children, and violating multiple articles of international law
This morning, Netanyahu’s so-called “Wing of Zion” plane was authorised to use the airspace of three ICC member countries—Greece, Italy, France—en route to New York
Netanyahu was indicted by ICC in November 2024 for war crimes and crimes against humanity
Law of the jungle
Yesterday, PM @AndyBurnham sent an A400M military plane from RAF Akrotiri on Cyprus to Nevatim Air Base in southern Israel
Nevatim is the central node through which the Gaza genocide was supplied and enacted
The A400M can carry a payload of 81,600 lbs and 116 troops
Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu is indicted by the ICC—of which Britain is a member—for war crimes and crimes against humanity
You are paying for all this
Max Blumenthal: "Israeli intelligence hacked into the phones of young girls in Gaza to determine when their fathers would come home. Then they would order an airstrike on their homes and listen to the girls burn alive."
If this doesn't make you sick, nothing will. They turned murder into entertainment.
This is what a demonic society produces.
Trump stood before the General Assembly and, in effect, shredded the Charter into pieces. Article 2(4) prohibits both the threat and the use of force. From the rostrum, he delivered both, and called the result peace.
Iran: He told the Assembly that he faced a choice between a deal and annihilating Iran, a UN member-state, leaving it “no chance of survival and no hope of future greatness.” In its 1996 Nuclear Weapons Advisory Opinion, the ICJ held that a declared readiness to use force, where the contemplated use of force would itself be unlawful, constitutes a threat prohibited by Article 2(4).
He then named his own date for peace: a deal “right after the election.” That single sentence gives away the case. Article 51, even assuming it applies, which it does not, permits force only for as long as necessary to repel an armed attack. That licence expires when the necessity expires. A president who can announce the month in which he intends to stop bombing has admitted that the bombing serves the calendar of his midterms.
Every US soldier killed between now and November will have died for the political convenience of a Republican vote. He launched this war with Israel on February 28. The war was stained by war crimes. The Islamabad Memorandum in June was supposed to end it. He chose to resume it anyway.
Venezuela: He offered the Venezuela operation as proof that no threat will be allowed to gain a foothold in the hemisphere. American forces bombed Caracas and abducted a sitting head of state, now jailed in Brooklyn awaiting trial. UN experts called the operation a grave, manifest and deliberate violation of international law. The Secretary-General said the rules of international law had not been respected.
The immunity of a sitting head of state recognized by the ICJ in Arrest Warrant (2002) survives a federal indictment. No prosecutor's paperwork converts an abduction into an arrest.
Cuba: He declared that Cuba's government “will fall” and that Washington seeks fundamental change there. The Cuban delegation walked out. The blockade has cut the island off from Venezuelan oil. Starving a population until its government collapses is the kind of coercive intervention prohibited by the principle of non-intervention affirmed in Nicaragua (1986) and General Assembly Resolution 2625.
Doctrine: He pledged to keep reasserting “American military power, where necessary in our region and around the world,” and announced two major bases in Greenland after months of threatening to take the island by force. He read his repudiation of Article 2(4) aloud at the Charter's own headquarters, before the states it was written to protect.
The record, checked.
Gaza: He claimed, “we ended the war in Gaza, saving untold thousands of lives.” Gaza's Health Ministry counted 1,394 Palestinians killed since that ceasefire as of September 21.
Munitions: He called reports of depleted American stocks untrue. His own Pentagon Inspector General told Congress a week earlier that the war had caused strategic inventory shortfalls, with $22.3 billion in munitions expended in the first four months.
Ukraine: He promised the war would end sooner than people expected. He campaigned on ending it within 24 hours. Twenty months into his term, it continues.
The bomb: He vowed Iran would never have a nuclear weapon. His own intelligence chief told lawmakers that Iran was not building one.
The Charter's opening line commits its members to “save succeeding generations from the scourge of war.”
He came to that hall and threatened to foreclose a member state's future for "generations".
The UK government now just lies about our involvement in wars, using this ridiculous new fig leaf of defensive measures. We are helping the U.S. bomb Iran and now helping Saudi Arabia bomb Yemen. With these bombings we are also bombing our standard of living and international law
UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham is going to provide military support to Saudi Arabia—one of the richest states in the world—against Yemen—one of the poorest states in the world—and his justification is “to try to maintain energy supplies to the UK and help keep living costs down.”
"The children will grow up".
This was also the argument that Nazi officials gave, during the Nuremberg Trials, to justify why they had killed children during the Holocaust.
