Figma just mass-eulogized every "design is dead" post on X and turned it into an ad.

Replace "design" with "prompting" and this reads exactly the same.

Replace it with "coding." Replace it with "writing." Replace it with "research." Same argument every time.

The human layer that cares what the output feels like, not just whether it functions, is the part that survives every generation of tools. It survived Canva. It survived templates. It's surviving AI.

Figma is defending design here, but they're describing a pattern that runs through every skill people keep declaring dead on this app.

The tool gets more powerful. The labor layer disappears. And the taste layer, the part that decides what's worth making and how it should feel, becomes the only thing left that matters.

That's design. That's prompting. That's managing an AI agent. That's every craft where the thinking is the product and the tool just runs.

@peduarte Just curious Pedro, how does the ai plan fit into your ecosystem of products you use?

I had the ai plan last year, but didn't renew it this year because it feels like maybe there is maybe more value in using Claude in claude and chatgpt in chatgpt if that makes sense. Thanks
