Supporting unhoused community in Bos/Camb area via drop-in, material aid, sweep support & organizing alongside them for transformative solutions #StopTheSweeps
It's day 2 of Mayor Wu's camping ban, her #OperationCleanSweep - sweeps:
↑ OD death, hospitalizations, infections
↓ access to meds, care, community
Demand Wu:
- END ⛺️ ban & #StopTheSweeps
- Invest in evidence-based solutions
TAKE ACTION!

It is clear that the city plans on continuing to operate with a stunning lack of transparency, and listen only to those that affirm their plans to criminalize homelessness. Learn more about the city's actual actions and ways you can get involved: https://t.co/e58cso2Cl2
Tonight's city council hearing reminded us that the city has no intention of listening to us - or to public health and evidence - when it comes to Mass and Cass. The majority of the public could not even access the hearing, let alone testify.
Our unhoused neighbors in #Boston are forced to move EVERY DAY due to Mayor Wu @MayorWu cruel and counterprodutive criminalization policies and practices.
Be a good neighbor & practice community care NOT criminalization!

Happy Moving Day, #Boston !
Happy #AllstonChristmas to those who celebrate!
Welcome, if you're new!
Stressed? Exhausted? Missing Stuff?
That's how our unhoused neighbors in Boston feel EVERY DAY due to @MayorWu deadly criminalization policies!

This morning I had the privilege of joining @CBSNews to talk about why we need a public health approach to the overdose crisis. Tariffs and border enforcement will not save lives https://t.co/4uJY86t1FO
🧵#OverdosePrevention centers (#OPCs), also known as #SupervisedConsumptionSites, have been proven to save lives, improve #PublicHealth, & support the empowerment & well-being of communities in the U.S. & abroad. While recent legislation passed...

Kentucky police gave a homeless woman in active labor a ticket for sleeping outside. This is what happens when you try to use police, jails, and fines to address homelessness. It's cruel, and it does not work.
#HousingNotHandcuffs
At least 14,874 people in MA have died of PREVENTABLE OD since 1st #SIFMANOW bill in 2017.
#MApoli again made decision, based on stigma & bias NOT evidence to remove #overdosepreventioncenters from SU bill.
EVERY OD DEATH IS A POLICY FAILURE & CHOICE!
We demand #YestoSCS!
Shamefully, #MApoli pols have AGAIN chosen to ignore evidence, deep need & demand for #OverdosePreventionCenters & made the stigma-based decision to remove OPC from their final SUD bill.
We'll continue to demand #YESTOSCS & fight alongside people who use drugs for #SIFMANOW!
The irony of receiving a letter asking me to support a police mutual aid group for Brookline (of all towns) while the police regularly make upward of 100 thousand > me in OT in MA. I know where I won’t be donating to this holiday.
You should donate to!:

Just one more war, that will bring peace.
One more arrest, that will bring safety.
One more ticket, that will solve homelessness.
One more death, that will bring life.
All. Lies.
It does not have to be this way.
What a beautiful day demanding better for our people than jail & prison construction!
We’re so grateful for everyone who continues to give their heart + energy towards the struggle and vision for a better, freer future for all of us
Free her, free ourselves! #NoNewWomensPrison
I find it very strange when people post things like “IOAD, hashtag police officer/anything related to police” or put conditions, specifically recovery conditions, on harm reduction. Tell me you don’t actually understand harm reduction/police harm on PWUD without telling me…
ALSO it’s absurd for @MassGovernor to say families should choose respite centers and be kept out of shelter for 6 months, suggesting that 5 days is enough for families to be connected to housing or adequate services
If that were true WE WOULDNT HAVE A SHELTER CRISIS RIGHT NOW
“We just can’t push it along like other people have and just say, ‘We’re going to send this to the next neighborhood,’ because it doesn’t solve the problem.”
Somerville grapples with a rise in unsheltered homelessness

Incarcerated people are routinely silenced & denied their right to engage with legislators about decisions that affect their lives. Advocates across the country are fighting to change that. Check out @PrisonPolicy's webinar to learn more: https://t.co/sdDNmJXkg8
.@LACANetwork on the Supreme Court ruling to criminalize homelessness: "They have aligned with a legacy of systemic discrimination reminiscent of Jim Crow laws, Black Codes, Apartheid, and Sundown Towns."
