Today, on #IDAHOBIT2026, we reaffirm that trans & gender-diverse people belong at the heart of democracy.
There is no just society while discrimination and exclusion persist. We continue to stand for dignity, safety, equality, and the freedom for everyone to live authentically.
Today is an opportunity to reflect on the importance of visibility for transgender people community and the urgent need to ensure their safety, dignity, and equitable access to services. True progress means turning recognition into lasting inclusion and protection
My message is clear: communities must lead, rights must be protected, and justice must guide global health & development. These principles built the HIV response—and they're essential to ending AIDS. #EndAIDS

Science has delivered a powerful new HIV prevention tool. Now the real work begins. My latest Daily Monitor opinion reflects on Uganda’s lenacapavir milestone and the importance of equitable rollout. Read here: via @DailyMonitor 🔗https://t.co/30LqWe1WLa
85% of people living with #HIV experience internalized stigma — hiding their status, skipping treatment, living in fear of judgment.
This isn't a side issue. It's a barrier to ending #AIDS by 2030.
On #ZeroDiscriminationDay, we put #PeopleFirst.
@UNinUganda@jtmakokha
Around the world, people living with & affected by #HIV still face stigma & discrimination in healthcare, workplaces, communities.
This blocks access to services and put lives at risk.
#PeopleFirst is the only path to #ZeroDiscrimination.

Lenacapavir’s approval is a major win for HIV prevention in Uganda. Long-acting PrEP expands real choice for key populations facing stigma, criminalisation, and adherence barriers. Science has delivered, now systems must follow. Impact will depend on fast, affordable, rights-based, community-led access for those most at risk, if we are truly to end AIDS by 2030. @UKPC_UG
This season, we celebrate love, resilience, unity, and the beauty of community. Grateful for every step we’ve walked together. May your hearts be filled with peace, joy, and laughter with those you love. Merry Christmas & peaceful new year🎊🎊
Programmes serving key populations are vital to slow new HIV infections and accelerate progress toward ending AIDS.
But funding cuts are undermining these efforts, at a time when HIV is rising fastest among key populations.
These services are lifelines. We must protect them.
On this World AIDS Day, We share a poster from the @MinofHealthUG reminding you that using a condom correctly and consistently can protect you from HIV. And if an accident happened during intercourse… get PEP.
The government has supported various biomedical prevention programs to end HIV related new infections.
Let's utilize them 😊
PrEP, condoms and PEP.
This #WorldAIDSDay2025, @UNAIDS has released a new report highlights the profound impacts of funding disruptions but also offers hope.
We can end AIDS by 2030 but only if we act now. Fund communities, protect rights, scale up innovation.

Earlier today, UNESO held a productive and forward-thinking meeting with dedicated Board of Directors and staff! 🤝
The team came together to align on our strategic goals for the coming year, review our recent impact over the year, and discuss how we can best serve the movement. The collaboration and shared commitment in the room were truly inspiring.
We’re excited about the roadmap ahead and committed to achieving our mandate.
