Wakili, do you sometimes rob Peter to pay Paul by using payments from one client to cover expenses on another client’s file?
What happens when a client cannot pay, yet their matter still needs your attention?
A law firm is a business. How you bill, collect fees and manage each file matters.
Join me for Episode 2 of Chamber 10: The Business of Law with TerryAnne Muthoni Managing Partner @simbaadbo as we explore how to build a sustainable legal practice.

Yesterday, I joined my colleagues from the JSC in an engagement with the National Assembly’s Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC) to advocate for increased funding for the Judiciary and JSC.
Over the last four years, sustained engagements have contributed to significant growth in the budget, supporting improved service delivery and access to justice.
Key funding priorities were informed by institutional needs and feedback received during public hearings.
We presented the previous financial year’s budget performance and outlined priorities for the supplementary budget.
I appreciate the continued support of JLAC members, many of whom are fellow advocates, in championing adequate funding for the JSC and judiciary.
Studies show that 64% of Kenyans facing legal problems do not seek services from advocates.
In the premiere episode of Chamber 10, Taking the Leap: Starting Your Own Law Firm we discuss how advocates can position themselves and access the untapped legal market.

🎙️ INTRODUCING CHAMBER 10 WITH JACQUELINE INGUTIAH!
Where Law Meets Life!
What happens when we put down the files and make time for a conversation?
Inspired by my early days as a young advocate in Kisumu, Chamber 10 was a space within the Kisumu Law Courts where advocates across generations came together to learn, exchange ideas, share experiences, mentor one another and, of course, enjoy a good laugh!
This podcast brings that same spirit to life.
Starting 20th October 2026, join me for candid conversations, inspiring journeys, practical insights and the untold stories behind the legal profession.
Whether you're an advocate, a law student or simply curious about life and the law, there's a seat for you at Chamber 10!
Pull up a chair. Let's talk!

From Legal Aid to the Judicial Service Commission: A Journey of Service and Purpose.
From my early days in legal aid and human rights advocacy to serving on the Judicial Service Commission, my journey has been shaped by a deep commitment to justice, human dignity and the rule of law.
Some experiences never leave you, including the story of a six-year-old girl rescued from forced marriage.
Every step of my journey has reinforced one conviction, the law must serve people, especially the most vulnerable.
Thank you, @NationAfrica for sharing a glimpse of my journey.
