@kramusthafa I think tax should be an optional thing here in the Maldives if our hard earned money goes to the salaries of monkeys like this, allowing people to voluntarily fund idiots instead
Rasmale needed professional urban planners and a proper master plan. Instead, we sent Minister Muththalib on study tours to Dubai.

@Midhuamsaud I am surprised a certain nation hasn't endorsed this man as the first Jewish President in Maldivian history just like they did for Donald Trump with the stunts he pulls off
We finally have an answer.
Gov is giving this 30-290 BILLION MVR worth rasmale land FREE OF CHARGE and RENT FREE
Ministers justification for granting Eagle Hills development rights over 500 hectares of Rasmale is that the State will receive a 10% revenue share + 4% on property transactions, rather than an upfront acquisition payment or rent.
For argument’s sake, let’s assume this is the best model.
Then comes an even more important question:
Why wasn’t there an open international bidding process for this model?
If the Government believes granting rights over land worth USD 2–19 billion (MVR 30–290 billion) in exchange for revenue sharing is such a good deal, surely many major international developers would have competed for that opportunity.
Some might have offered 12%. Some 15%. Some might have offered an upfront payment plus revenue sharing.
The same Eagle Hills offered equity share of 32% to Serbian Gov, and extended over 300 million euro financial assistance, all for 177 hectors of land for 99 years.
And in Maldives we are told to blindly believe Gov giving this asset to thier friends with whatever terms they agree as the best deal?
Competition is how we find out what the land and development rights are actually worth.
So before debating whether 10% is a good deal, answer the simpler question:
Why was Eagle Hills selected without an open competitive bid?
By removing 60k+ earners from Aasandha, it makes more sense to remove private health insurance for MPs, judges, police and MNDF and family, and SOE employees.
The State should not provide more healthcare for only a certain group of people over others with public money.
@Karma1975@zezuzzzzizz@Husha_a Male' Landlords are also the same leeches that keep other places like Addu city underdeveloped on purpose so the demand for housing stays concentrated in Male' city, we'd be more than happy to leave if the government gave a shit @zezuzzzzizz
@plssaysikenow People forget the main point, it was never about looks, it's the cultural differences that makes Maldivians look down on Bangladeshi's, it's a gray area because at the same time, Bangladeshis refuse to assimilate to the cultures of the new land despite staying long term
One of the most fundamental things a politician or a statesman must understand is with powers that ordinary citizens do not have, come limitations that ordinary citizens do not have.
As an ordinary individual, I have enormous freedom to speak, write, criticise and express myself as I wish. But the moment I enter public office, become a public servant and receive my salary from public money, I voluntarily surrender some of that freedom.
Public office is a package. You cannot claim its powers, privileges, authority and protections while rejecting the responsibilities and limitations that come with them.
If you want the privileges of public office, you must also be willing to accept its constraints.
That is the price of holding power in a political system. Public office was never meant to give you the best of both worlds.
@HKurusee In Maldives's case, the more vocal people who mind you are also in important positions in govt or SoE's, either doesn't have a good education background or has one that's very questionable, so they depend heavily on AI. We all know very educated people like @shiuna_m rarely tweet
@QueenMaldivesMV More than half MP's are under the age of 35-40 iirc, it was never boomers vs gen z, it's the ordinary citizens vs this shitty caste system that's been silently established since Maumoons time
Finally written to the the newly appointed Principal Secretary to the President on Citizens’ Complaints, Citizens’ Complaints Bureau Dr Mohamed Mahid Shareef
Let’s see if this bureau is of any use
