"Hijacked and Reprogrammed by Cancer Cells"
🔬 Join us tomorrow as @HassanFazilaty takes us behind the scenes at the lab for an exclusive sneak peek into our research. Don't miss his lecture!

Our paper focusing to the role of Bmp ligands in specification of cellular fate of enterocytes is just published in @emboreports https://t.co/yjB8D6TrZs
Out now in @NatureComms! Our Postdoc Manqiang presents #assembloids, a new 3D co-culture system of colonic #epithelial and stromal cells that helps to unravel the crucial role of #BMPsignaling in the epithelial-stromal interaction of #crypt maturation. 👉

I am delighted to share our @BaslerLab new publication in @TrendsCellBio . We review the diverse functions of intestinal fibroblasts in development, homeostasis and disease and propose a novel framework for their classification.

Congratulations to our star PhD student Michael Brügger @MDBScience for successfully defending his thesis. He has several papers, and there will be more to come!
Also thanks to the committee @Johanna_A_Joyce, Michael Scharl, Darren Gilmour and Christian von Mering @UZH_en.
Adult cells restore to embryonic time when they are damaged! But is it one general embryonic time?!
In this Comment @NatRevMCB, I suggest that depending on the extent of damage, cells go back to different embryonic time points.
Our new preprint. We checked how individual Bmps influence the differentiation of intestinal epithelial cells. We confirmed recent observations showing that Bmp activate genes connected to lipid metabolism and uptake, but we show more.
Publication alert!
It is extremely important for us researchers to consider #reproducibility in our work.
This is the result of stimulating discussions with @HeldLeonhard and other fellows of @crsuzh during @ReproducibiliT and members of the @BaslerLab.

👏🏽 #EESMetastasis
Delighted to work with @shyam_lab, @SabineTejpar, Joanito & many talented colleagues on our paper, using insights from single-cell & bulk -omics to propose an update to CMS classification of colorectal cancer, in @NatureGenet 1/

I am truly grateful to the fantastic lineup of speakers at #EESMetastasis for presenting their inspiring data. Thanks to @Johanna_A_Joyce, @CharlesSwanton, @LabMassague and Daniel Klimmeck for organizing this amazing meeting. Looking forward to the next one!
Fantastic! 12 trainee/travel awards awarded during the First Int'l Conference on #MesenchymalCells in #Health & #Disease June 3-8, 2022 #Crete#Greece. Look forward to seeing your scientific progress in two years. https://t.co/yx3oy5VLha
I would like to express my immense gratitude to the Theodor und Ida Herzog-Egli-Stiftung https://t.co/uolX895039 for awarding me a project grant to support my research in the @BaslerLab. I will work on the perturbation of the TME in a murine model of metastatic colorectal cancer.
I am pleased to announce our new paper in @CellReports, on common features between murine embryonic development and inflammatory disease in the colon.
Great collaborative work with @HassanFazilaty and @TomasValenta13 in the lab of @KonradBasler .
