It’s with a heavy heart that I’m sharing the Ditka family has announced the passing of Mike Ditka this morning.
Da Coach. Hall of Famer. The heartbeat of the ’85 Bears and a Super Bowl champion. Chicago won’t be the same.
Prayers to Diana and the family.
RIP, Coach. 🐻⬇️
Here’s a statement from the family:
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Mike Ditka. While the world knew Mike as a Hall of Fame football player, legendary coach, and leader of the Chicago Bears’ Super Bowl XX championship team, we knew him as the heart of our family. Mike will be missed beyond measure and remembered forever.
With love and gratitude, The Ditka Family
The Hawks have already signed Oliver Moore long-term and had "soft conversations" with some of the other players in that bucket: Ryan Greene, Artyom Levshunov, Sam Rinzel and Wyatt Kaiser. https://t.co/RUG6B8OMk9
Pete Rose shares tons of baseball knowledge with A-Rod and Frank Thomas. It’s a 6 minute video, but I promise you, it’s the best thing you’ll see about Pete Rose today.
One year ago today, the Cubs beat the Padres in Game 3 on the NL Wild Card Series at Wrigley Field
Turns out playing at Wrigley in the playoffs is important …
What a disappointing end to this season @Cubs . But hey you got the chance to celebrate after clinching a wild card and losing focus knowing you had to travel to Boston for a double header that cost you home field advantage!
Everybody's answer here is partly about the player and partly about who was sitting next to them.
Mine is Griffey. On a broadcast that swing looked easy and a little lazy. From a seat down the right field line it looked like he had been given extra time that nobody else on the field received.
The thing television cannot give you is defense, the way a great center fielder is already moving before contact, and the way an infield quietly changes shape between pitches.
Cameras point at the pitcher and all of that disappears. So give me the name, and the ballpark, and the year. What did he do that day while you were sitting there?
