Patient care at hospitals across Jammu and Kashmir has been affected as medical interns continue an indefinite strike over their stipend. Hundreds of medical interns staged sit-in protests and candlelight vigils, demanding an increase in their stipend. The protesting doctors say they receive ₹12,000 a month and that the amount has remained unchanged for the last seven years.

Appeal to Doctor Associations Across India:
Stand in solidarity with the protesting doctors of Jammu & Kashmir. Their legitimate demands deserve the support of the entire medical fraternity.
An injustice to doctors anywhere must concern doctors everywhere. I urge every medical association across the country to raise its voice and support our young colleagues in J&K.

#WATCH | Intern doctors in #Kashmir have been on #strike for the past four days over their pending demands. They have now warned that if they do not receive a positive response from the concerned departments or the government within the next 2–3 days, they will intensify their protest and begin a #hunger strike.
The MBBS interns of J&K are being paid mere 12k per month despite the recommendations made by NMC, while the other states pay around 20k-30k to their interns, this is a clear discrepancy that has to end.

When it comes to criticism of medicos everyone around here is an expert, when it’s about justice and equal rights, everyone turns a blind eye!
#HikeJKInternsStipend
Medical interns in J&K receive a lower stipend compared to other states and FMGs receive no stipend at all . They work long hours and deserve better support and respect. Let's hope @manojsinha_, @OfficeOfLGJandK, and @SyedAbidShah take notice and make a positive change for them.
YET AGAIN KNOCKING ON THE DOORS THAT WHERE NEVER ANSWERED
A dailywage worker earns double the amount than Interns do
A mockery or what?
A meagre 12300 is too less for a person who has to support his family in someway and takecare of his own expenditures
#HikeJkInternsStipend
Are the interns of the other states doing more work then JK interns?
If not then why are JK interns paid less then half the amount the other state interns are paid
#HikeJKInternsStipend@SyedAbidShah
Medical interns in J&K get a meagre 13000 every month which is less than half of what their counterparts in others states earn. They are struggling to support their families & deserve better. Request @manojsinha_ ji to look their genuine demands.
