There was an excellent testimony last year, a girl whose parents decided she should leave the TOT, she left with another family and it took them about 15 days to be allowed to cross, as the Russian military was in charge of choosing who could get to the other side.

I have formally written to your office regarding a serious and ongoing pattern of harassment targeting the Armenian community and its 1,700-year presence in the Old City.

On 2 August 2026 at 1:00 a.m., six individuals attacked the Saint James Monastery in the Armenian Quarter.

They spat on the sacred entrance, threw stones at an Armenian resident’s window, and shouted abuse.

Israeli police responded and issued restraining orders. This was not an isolated incident.
It is part of a documented pattern of intimidation, vandalism, and pressure against one of the oldest continuous Christian communities in the Holy Land.
The Armenian 🇦🇲 Quarter is not a tourist attraction.
It is living heritage.
It is a community that has maintained its churches, monasteries, language, and identity through centuries of empires and upheaval.

When sacred spaces are desecrated and residents live under repeated threat, the message is clear: their presence is being challenged.

As Ambassador, you are uniquely positioned to act.

The United States has long stood for religious freedom and the protection of cultural heritage. These are not abstract principles.

They are tested in places like the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem.

I respectfully urge you to:

• Use the diplomatic channels of the U.S. Embassy to stress the importance of protecting all faith communities in Jerusalem
• Monitor the investigation into the August 2 attack and press for transparent, thorough accountability
• Encourage Israeli authorities to strengthen real protection for the Armenian Quarter and its residents
Religious freedom and the survival of ancient communities are not side issues.

They are central to the kind of Jerusalem the world claims to defend.

Ever since the signing of the Tripp MOU a the facto good relationship has been taking place between the signatories parties.

Constitutional amendments require more than a simple request from other countries a state wants to achieve a sustainable peace with; it’s a profound change to the highest supreme document of a nation, that is essentially to remain untouchable if a country is serious about its own national security interests and sovereignty.

Previous to its approach, it’s even more important to provide a positive outcome to the unsolved ongoing consequences generated by the last phase of the armed conflict, which is the base of the peace process.

Both sides have mothers of fallen soldiers, they will mourn their entire lives.

But only one side has relatives of hostages and pows, and this matter must be primarily resolved, to give floor to the intended solution at stake.

This absolutely previous matter has not been mentioned and remains unfulfilled: it’s also a component of the end of any armed conflict, the release of all the hostages and prisoners of war. Having imprisoned nationals of a country a peace process is intended to be done, will never constitute a real peace process, not a the facto, not a binding one. That principle operates for any state that intends to successfully approach any peace settlement model.

Humanitarian matters must be addressed first, and those men be returned to their homeland.

American veteran and President of the R.T. Weatherman Foundation @mobbs_mentality came to Ukraine to hear firsthand from children who were returned home from Russia and the temporarily occupied territories. Their experiences became the documentary “The Stolen Children: The Search for Ukraine’s Abducted Children.”

I also spoke about Russia’s abductions, forced militarization, and other crimes — and the difficult path to bringing these children home.

I’ve just submitted a formal letter to H.E. Isaac Herzog, President of Israel ����🇱

demanding urgent action to protect the Armenian 🇦🇲 community in Jerusalem. Here’s why this matters, and why I will not remain silent.

On August 2, 2026, at 1:00 a.m., six individuals attacked the Saint James Monastery in Jerusalem’s Armenian Quarter.

They spat on sacred ground.

They threw stones at an Armenian woman’s window as she filmed the incident.

They hurled abuse and insults at her for documenting their actions.

This was not random vandalism.
This was targeted harassment of a minority community and its most sacred spaces.

Yes, Israeli police responded. Yes, restraining orders were issued.

That is the bare minimum a functioning justice system should do.
What is being ignored is far more serious: this incident is not isolated.

The Armenian community in Jerusalem faces a documented pattern of harassment, vandalism, and intimidation, spitting on sacred sites, verbal abuse of residents, and attacks on those brave enough to document it.

These are not minor incidents. They are systematic assaults on cultural and religious identity.

I know something about fighting hatred. In Argentina I’m a member of the Network and Observatory of Antisemitism at the University of Buenos Aires Faculty of Law. I have been an assistant professor to the Chair of Holocaust and Genocides for many years at University of Buenos Aires, school of law.

I have dedicated myself to combating antisemitism and protecting Jewish communities from discrimination and abuse. That work has taught me a fundamental principle: all minority communities deserve protection.

All faiths deserve dignity and security.

Just as I defend Jewish communities from hatred in Argentina, I am now respectfully demanding that President Herzog extend the same vigilance to the protection of Armenian cultural and historical heritage in Israel.

The Armenian Quarter is home to 1,700 years of continuous Christian presence.

Its monasteries are not merely places of worship, they are living embodiments of history, identity, and cultural continuity.

Attacks on these sites and their residents are attacks on the pluralistic character of Jerusalem itself.

International law is clear: systematic desecration of religious and cultural identity is a serious concern.

It is documented. It is recognized. And it must be addressed.
I have urged President Herzog to:
1) Ensure a thorough, transparent investigation with full accountability under Israeli law
2) Strengthen protection for the Armenian Quarter, its residents, and its holy sites
3) Publicly reaffirm Israel’s commitment to the security and dignity of all faith communities in Jerusalem.

The Armenian people know from history what happens when indifference sets in, when harassment becomes normalized, when desecration becomes routine.

We cannot allow that cycle to repeat.
🇦🇲 To the Armenian woman who was targeted: your courage in filming this incident matters.
Your documentation is evidence. You were right to bear witness.

To the Armenian community in Jerusalem: your presence is precious.
