This isn’t a scene from a movie. It’s the reality of war in Ukraine. Security cameras captured the moment a Russian strike hit the grounds of a kindergarten.
A man narrowly escaped, running to safety just in time.

Cleveland sucks. The city, the fans, the teams. All of it. Rooting for their downfall every season for the rest of my life will be fun.
See you all in 2028
“It’s her. Oh God, it’s really her.” 22-year-old Alina was pulled from the rubble seven hours after a Russian guided aerial bomb struck Zaporizhzhia.
She spent seven hours trapped beneath a concrete slab. And throughout that time, she remained conscious.
Yesterday, October 10, Zaporizhzhia was awakened at 4:48 a.m. by a series of powerful explosions. The Russians dropped five guided aerial bombs on the city.
Some of them struck residential buildings. A massive wall collapsed in a five-story apartment building, while a three-story building was almost completely destroyed.
Dozens of people were trapped beneath the rubble, including families with children.
More than seven hours of searching. “Minutes of silence” at the ruins, as rescuers listened for signs of life. But no voices answered.
Then suddenly, one of the rescuers shouted: “Quick, find a cervical collar!”
There was someone alive beneath a concrete slab.
“The girl was trapped under a slab. After it was lifted, she was found in a small enclosed space. She had enough room to breathe and had even remained conscious,” volunteer Oleksandr explained.
It took almost another hour to free her. Her legs and one arm were pinned down. First, rescuers stabilized her neck and checked for bleeding and fractures. Only then did they form a human chain to carry her to the ambulance.
“She’s doing fine. She was incredibly brave. Her name is Alina. She’s 22 years old, just like me,” Oleksandr said.
As paramedics examined Alina, her female relatives approached the ambulance.
“It’s her. Oh God, it’s really her.”
She was the third person rescued alive from the site.
But that same morning, volunteers had also pulled the body of a 9-year-old girl from the rubble. She was already dead.
“I have mixed emotions. This morning, my nerves were starting to give out. But when we find people alive, I feel so happy,” Oleksandr said.
He fled occupied Berdiansk in 2022. After a Russian strike on a nine-story apartment building on Zestafonska Street killed 19 people, he realized he could no longer stand on the sidelines.
After Alina was taken to the hospital, the rescuers rested for a few minutes. They drank some water. Some lit cigarettes.
And then they went right back to work.
There could still be people trapped beneath the rubble. Among them, a grandmother and a teenager.
They keep searching.
Because they believe another miracle is possible.

Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed Donald Trump’s statement that an energy ceasefire has been reached, stating Ukraine is ready to stop strikes on Russian energy.
"We hope Putin will finally say something other than murder and deceit," Zelensky said.

A Russian strike damaged the upper floors of an apartment high-rise in Dnipro late Saturday, injuring four people, including two 8-year-old girls.
Emergency crews secured the building and cut utilities following a gas leak, municipal authorities said.

In light of recent events, we want to speak directly to our American supporters and to everyone around the world who stands for the values of freedom:
We know and truly believe American citizens remain committed to standing with Ukraine. We are deeply grateful for this, regardless of the political decisions made by U.S. leadership. We support the many Americans fighting for Ukraine as part of our Defense Forces and will continue to stand by them even more.
As Ukrainians living in Ukraine, we believe resistance is the only choice. Surrender is not peace. On russia’s terms, it would mean only suffering, occupation, and the destruction of our nation. Peace on russia’s terms means dismantling our army, leaving us vulnerable, and waiting for the next invasion once russia regains its strength.
We are profoundly grateful to the people worldwide who continue to support Ukraine in every way possible. We are ordinary Ukrainians who simply want to live, so we choose to defend ourselves with every means we have. Even if U.S. leaders turn away, we will not abandon the ideals of freedom and independence.

Now THIS is the United States that I respect...
...and which I haven't see enough of lately.
Straight talking. Calling a piece of s### a piece of s###.
Not dressing it up in a suit and calling it 'Mr. President' .
Romania has just opened a new bridge connecting it with Ukraine.
The new bridge was built close to the border with Hungary and will make it easier to move important goods in and out of Ukraine.

Putin is not an anti hero or some sort of twisted fantasy. He and his regime are war criminals. And if you’re defending his regime, you are an accomplice. There is zero moral equivalence with the leaders of or the country he determined to attack.

—Trump’s diesel deal helps Russia and not the cause of peace
The world misses Lindsey Graham, and never more than now as Trump sides more decidedly with Putin in his war against Ukraine and Europe
The late Senator might have been able to persuade the President to avoid this moral and strategic mistake.
