The most liveable city in the world this year? Copenhagen, which can celebrate its second consecutive year at the top. Vienna and Melbourne are close runners-up. Vancouver (9th) is the only city in North America to reach the top ten

Not joking: What is causing the epidemic of wrong-way drivers?--"The crash marked the 3rd incident involving a State Police trooper being struck by a wrong-way driver since Trooper Kevin Trainor was killed in May in a head-on crash with a wrong-way driver" https://t.co/OUReqKqiTF
I have used this quote for years with colleagues who were taking the long way around in solving a problem or producing a deliverable. #BusinessJargonGoneWrong
“C'mon, it's Czechoslovakia. We zip in, we pick 'em up, we zip right out again. We're not going to Moscow. It's Czechoslovakia. It's like we're going into Wisconsin.”
They talk about soccer like war -- "They knew how to get them scrambling in transition, how to dispossess them deftly, how to win one-on-one battles in the final third, how to turn their defenders around, how to pounce on a bouncing ball"

Or more simply, how do you finance using cash paying securities for the sole corporate purpose of buying an asset that produces no cashflow and which you had previously vowed to never sell? Sell common to pay preferred/debt? I'd genuinely like to know. https://t.co/HgNdA8CS8D
We know there's a housing supply problem in Chicago as in other cities, so great to see conversions of older office space moving forward, but has anyone done the math on how many boutique hotels are needed in Chicago? Not sure every conversion will succeed with one as anchor

I feel like I need to hear from Christopher Storer if Carmy ended up staying even more than I needed to hear from David Chase whether Tony Soprano got whacked. . . Such great TV. #TheBear
@MichaeleDudley@jjlopilato@Savageboston@BostonGlobe A lot, no doubt. However, Steve Balmer just spent $2 billion putting up the Intuit Center for the Clippers. So what would it cost to locate a state of the art facility within the city of Boston plus infrastructure? And by the way, that new facility would have no hockey team.
From 1906-1910, the Cubs had the best 5-year record of any team in baseball. And to this day, no one has ever had a better 5-year span. But the team would go downhill after 1945. Without a winning record, the ballpark itself became the marketing focus https://t.co/N6Y73W6CdH
@jjlopilato@Savageboston@BostonGlobe New York City Metro = 19.5 million people. Boston Metro Area: 4.9 million. Also, Jacobs doesn't need to "partner" on concessions, they just need to sell half the ownership of it to the Celtics for market value. Garden loses value the minute the Celtics break ground.
@yourmomsnotreal@Savageboston@BostonGlobe It wouldn’t be be given. It would be sold at current market value, which still would be significantly less than the cost of building a whole new building. If the Celtics build their own facility, then the two are in competition for all of those concerts and other events.
@Cerrone_Battle I love point guards. I was a point guard. However, isn't the demise of NBA point guards due in large part to them being defensive liabilities where the only "play" in the NBA is on-ball screen and roll? The little guys get killed on switches.
While this is a great win for team Paraguay, I'm saddened that Uruguay did not make it through to the knockout round, robbing the world of a chance to see a head-to-head score settling, once and for all, of who is the supreme 'guay in international soccer. . .
