@HRT_USA Has anyone just tacked cheap cattle panel on the inside to stop them reaching through? Thinking this is what I want to do. Have no continuous currently.
MUST WATCH: Trey Kaufman-Renn talked about why it was important for him to stay at #Purdue all four years when that's become more rare in college basketball.
Some really wise words from 23-year-old.
"You may get more money, but what's the dollar amount on the relationships that I've built? What's the dollar amount on the values that I've learned?"
@patton_devin@NickRCurrie If his true cog was less than price per lb of 8-900 lbers. What would be the risk in hedging them now and feeding until that weight? Capitalize on the board and on cog. Risk is death loss and basis correct?
@NickRCurrie Serious question as a young guy looking to feed cattle. If your true COG is less than the price per lb at 8-900. Couldn’t you hedge them now and feed until then for more profit. Ik the risk is death loss but anything I’m missing?
@FixnandFarming I’m thinking the same thing for farmland. Nobody my age wants to do that. Would rather have a nice place in suburbs, vacation, send their kids to college, etc.
@taylorcmoyer@JasonHanson2028 I’m still full of energy and willing to change and learn to improve. Not being able to implement this, is the frustrating part and why I already see how it’s going.
@taylorcmoyer@JasonHanson2028 Definitely could. The honest conversation is the difficult part. Family is not ready to hear some of the honesty, as I won’t maintain the status quo and continue to complain about the same things as everyone else. Very resistant to change
@JasonHanson2028 Currently working on that. Trying to find a lease to run some of my own cattle. It’s not as bad as this guys situation, (I choose the hybrids.) but many things I can’t even bring up.
@bl_ag_inc So many people spending a boat load of money on stuff that is worthless ie. clothes shoes etc. Rural IS is pinching every penny and putting it towards their net worth. Urban US is consuming the crap out of everything. Choose your style, but rural areas have much less free capital
@bl_ag_inc Equity doesn’t mean anything if it’s all depreciating and only worth a third of what you paid when your family is ready to get out. I went to the decent side of the city this week for the first time in a long time.
