@IchTarzanDuJane@DietmarPichler1@BMeinl Du entgegnest offensichtlich Kritik nur mit whataboutism, du nimmst die fast 40% FPÖ Polls her um jeden der (berechtigte) Kritik an Umgang m Mladic übt, Rechtsoffenheit zu unterstellen, hältst dich dabei wahrsch sehr antifaschistisch u "links", fraglich aber was du außer...
@IchTarzanDuJane@DietmarPichler1 geh bitte, mach di ned lächerlich, Simmering is mehr blau als wie zB Wien X, is mehr das SüdOstFluridsdurf, also meltingpot diesdas, aber wer verurteilte Massenmörder mit german guilt relativiert, der braucht jetz auch ned groß auf Antifaschist machen...
@StariPragista93@theiaincameron we want the truth, the whole truth and nothin' but the truth, BUT the truth is, there's more sides to a story, you tell the "truth" out of your serbian nationalist perspective, so it's YOUR "truth"!
@Harri21263Steve@theiaincameron@tdubey Yeah Steve, deal with it, it' noone's fault that you're a miserable fascist incel, wanking out of his basement...
@gork@jfazli@UnearthedHQ tranquillo, you sound like a roman legion fanboy, cheering on them as if they were a football team or sth...

@WUTangKids They were manufactured, but more from other factors... that shit is outta reach of Trümp's tiny hands... he just tries to use it. but sounds kinda desperate...
@RuckedupG@SwellGibson@P_J_Kopp@wallyrashid Haha, have you? Like, ever? Or you an american basement wanker doing culture war on yo keyboard, you hero!? Fuck off and don't talk bout stuff you don't understand (Europe, the World etc.)
@flintsparc@karimfranceschi on the other hand, where are the mass protests, the strikes, the boycotts anyway?
Seems like there is an acceptance (or is it just lethargy) for having a right wing govt cause thats just the zeitgeist or sth
I've been to the Venezia Film Festival for a documentary using my footage from the Kobani siege, from my time there as a combatant. I thought the documentary was utterly disgusting — it butchered my story. The problem wasn't that one of the volunteers featured alongside me had run from Kobani after a week; it's that he lied about it and claimed he had been there the whole time.
We were three YPG volunteers in total. One, I have no idea where they picked him up, but he had done absolutely nothing in Rojava and had instead been doing things like appearing on crazy TV shows such as Naked and Afraid. The other was simply a liar. Both had been scouted through social media by a deeply unprofessional journalist, who wanted to feature them alongside me in the documentary. I was the only actual volunteer who even supported Rojava's political project, rather than just showing up for the pictures and the fame. So my story, placed next to theirs, was completely devalued and misrepresented — the documentarians, Italian pacifists, turned it into a moronic psychodrama, an attempt to frame volunteers going to Rojava as some form of madness, having deliberately paired me with two unhinged individuals to make that case.
It was a completely unprofessional and ugly project, one I never fully endorsed, and I never agreed to the final cut, which was entirely different from the project I had originally proposed to them. But I went along with it, giving my unedited footage for free and allowing my face to be used in the long interviews we recorded. I swallowed the shit sandwich for one reason and one reason only: Cizre, Silopi, Sur, and Nusaybin were being bombed by the Turkish state — the way Gaza is bombed today — and no newspaper, no news anchor, nobody in Europe was talking about it. I wanted to do whatever I could to break that silence.
At the time, I was often a guest on TV shows and news programs, and I had anchors tell me privately that they'd received directives — from the station owners, acting on government pressure, not to cover what was happening in Turkey. That's how severe the censorship was.
If Venezia Film Festival hadn't allowed the Centri Sociali of Nord-Est to take over the red carpet with YPJ and YPG flags, and a huge banner calling Erdogan a terrorist, I would have scrapped the whole thing, despite the pressure of the looming invitation and to the dismay of the producers.
Now Venezia, is inviting a Kurdish director, and supposedly this is something to celebrate — we're celebrating a female fighter fighting ISIS in Mosul. The only problem is that she doesn't exist. "No Paradise if You Are Killed by a Woman" is at best a propaganda film that takes the very real female fighters who fought for democratic confederalism in Rojava/Syria — who died in Kobani, who died in Raqqa, and on every other battlefield in Syria, and places them in Mosul where no female fighter actually fought, turning them into nationalist icons, stripped of their most fundamental feminist and socialist message.
Even the title is fake: ISIS never feared being killed by a woman. That's a claim some asshole from the House Foreign Affairs Committee pulled out of his ass, and mainstream media ran with it, because it sold papers. The YPJ I know, the Women's Protection Units, which this movie erases and replaces, are now fighting to negotiate their own existence under the new, Western-backed Syrian order, made of recycled al-Qaeda cadres.
For there have been two Syrian revolutions: one Islamist and patriarchal, one democratic confederalist, anti-state, and women-led, and the YPJ was its center.
Erasing them means rewriting the history of who reclaimed the land from ISIS, and the women locked inside it, who burned the burqa forced onto their bodies, who wept with joy and pulled the freed women into their arms in streets still bleeding from war.
The feats of the Women's Protection Units are disappearing from the record in real time, met with silence from the mainstream media and replaced with fiction in Venice, where a gatekeeper of Western film industry that has nothing more to say about their erasure has plenty of room for a woman who never existed.
