The more teams that eliminate their pro scouts, the greater the competitive advantage for the teams who keep theirs.
Just a shortsighted, self-sabotaging move.
"How'd you convince them to do it? Simple, I did it."

Ted Williams actually played more baseball during the five years* that included his WWII service than Anthony Rendon has during the five years of his $245,000,000 contract with the Angels so far and I'm going to need a second to fully absorb this.
*literally missed three of them
Hitters: Keep your hands above the baseball & train to hit it through the wall, not over it. Backspin the ball to the back of the cage.
The feel is sometimes not the real.
Are you going to listen to a battle tested HOF'er or a self-proclaimed guru? The choice is yours. Seems like a pretty easy decision to me. 🤷🏼♂️
Hitters….. I give u 10 pitches right down the middle in BP. I tell you I want you to hit every pitch for a homer down the line in left or right. How many do u center up??? At the ML level, they would center up 3 or 4 balls, maybe 5. Now, I give u those same 10 pitches and tell you to knock down the center field wall. How many do you center up? Most guys tell me, 7 or 8, maybe 9. So if u center up more to the middle of the field, why would your approach change at game time. Hunt the fastball to the off gap and you will be shocked at how well you see and stay on the breaking ball. Then, because you are swinging north (middle), you clip the breaking ball for a strike, to the pull side. Hunt heat to the north and let it eat!
Freddie & Mookie talking about the Yankees 5th Inning (btw I love that the #Y5I is officially a sports phrase forever) treating Gerritt Cole like a nobody that doesn’t matter is incredible. Like Soto’s HR against whatever Cleveland reliever that was where Soto pissed all over him
Royals manager Matt Quatraro on facing the heavily-favored Yankees:
"Well, thankfully we're not playing against their tradition, right? We're playing against the team that we're facing off against this week. That's going to be plenty of a challenge. We understand how talented they are, but nobody gets to this point in the offseason or the postseason without being talented and being a good team. We take it as a challenge.
"We understand that most people are going to think that they are the favorites, but that doesn't matter when you get out on the field.
All the 1 leg down catching guys hiding under their chairs right now. Easy block for a MLB catcher with a two knee drop. Stealing pitches doesn’t matter when you’re in a “lose or go home” situation. Don’t waste your time trying to convince me. #Astros#Tigers
