My research interest includes liquid biopsies and sarcoma, focused on improving patients outcomes by incorporating translational research in clinical trials.

✨ Proud to share that the QuicDNA team won the Health and Social Care – Industry Collaboration Award at the MediWales Awards — recognising the partnership between AWMGS and Illumina, enabling liquid biopsy testing as standard of care across Wales.
Thank you to all involved.
Do you want to sub-specialise in lung cancer?
Please come and work with me and the Lung Team @TheChristieNHS and apply for an ESO fellowship. Deadline is mid September!

What a hero!
Craig Maxwell has just completed his epic rowing challenge from Tenby to Cardiff in support of the QuicDNA Max study.
Craig — you’re a legend. Thank you for everything you do!❤️❤️❤️
Please donate if you can

We were at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff doing a bucket collection for the Maxwell Foundation, supporting the QuicDNA Max study to improve cancer diagnostics in Wales.
Huge thanks to everyone who showed their support❤️❤️❤️

Dr Magda Meissner discusses the Welsh ctDNA experience (QuicDNA study). Blood draw at time of presentation/pre tissue Bx. N=450 recruited. Big improvement in turnarounds. Aiming for routine commissioning soon. @BTOGORG#BTOG25
Dr Mat Krebs highlights interpreting an informative or non-informative ctDNA result. Allows treatment on ctDNA or mandates await tissue NGS. Formal guidelines to be released. Conclusion: ctDNA is funded = business as normal @BTOGORG#BTOG25
Very Grateful for the opportunity to present the QuicDNA study at #BTOG25, sharing our work among leading experts in liquid biopsy in lung cancer, alongside the brilliant Debra Montague #UKALK, who brought a strong patient voice to the discussion.

Using ctDNA to inform tissue genomics. Stopping tissue NGS if actionability demonstrated on liquid. Making the cost benefit of early ctDNA work at scale: WOW; @NHSEngland#BTOG25
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the @MoondanceCancer Initiative for the Keith James Grant, which has enabled us to attend the International Liquid Biopsy Conference (#ISLB2024) and present early data from the QuicDNA Study on the international stage.
🆕 opportunity!
🧑⚕️Interested in novel IO & cell therapy in solid cancer? Keen to gain experience in early phase trials?

The Lab of Exp. Oncology (KU Leuven) is seeking PhD candidates interested in preclin. models of sarcomas, actionable targets and in vivo exploration of novel anticancer agents. 20 year track record of reverse translation and many thesis projects completed! https://t.co/dbTxua7OVr
Fabulous opportunity to join a great team at Velindre Cancer Centre. This is an exciting time for the Cancer Centre so come and join us build a future for our patients. https://t.co/gnXdyCciiE
🔬 A new cancer DNA test is giving hope to thousands - with the aim of speeding up diagnosis for lung cancer patients in Wales. 🩸

I am pleased to see patients already benefiting from liquid biopsy testing. For some patients, like Phillip, liquid biopsy may be the only opportunity to have a genetic test, as tissue biopsies can be challenging and sometimes fail to produce results.

We had a fantastic time celebrating one year of progress of the QuicDNA trial🧬
We’ve heard from the project team, clinicians & executives on it's success so far & from patients on just how life changing the outcomes of the trial could be for those awaiting cancer diagnosis
Great to meet my ctDNA NGS expert colleague @AlastairGreyst2 at #ESMO24 discussing a new UK report on all things ctDNA supported by @Roche. Download it using the QR!
