thing is, many ‘marketing’ guys in the music industry lack the patience to do deep-dive kind of research. it’s usually guesses and wishful thinking of ‘if we do this, we should have this’, and not ‘according to research, bla bla bla’.
bottom line, there’s a research gap
I saw a conversation on Twitter about marketing plans yesterday and I must say, there is need to mass return to rigorous study for all of us.
You cannot keep doing marketing gig for an artist if you don't know what or where their market is. In 2026.
