You can always tell when someone has no idea what youre talking about. Something in the eyes. Their eyes go blank and kind of shut down, you can physically see them unable to process
@littlebayschool I was scared of that exact scene too!!! I remember feeling it as kind of a "jump scare" as a kid. The dinosaur looks almost friendly and then its neck things come out and it hisses or something if i remember correctly
To the Americans:
I've travelled all over the world. I've familiarized myself with many places, and met many people. And I'm a Canadian, although I’m privileged to reside once again in the States.
And here's something I've noticed, and it’s a key element of America's continuing greatness:
You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence.
This is something that doesn't really happen anywhere else in the world. Even in other free democracies—the United Kingdom; Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Australia, New Zealand and Canada; Germany, France, and the Netherlands (great countries all)—a counterproductive cynicism too often reigns.
Success is equated with exploitation.
Ambition is looked upon with contempt.
This happens sometimes in the United States too—particularly among the miserable progressives, who confuse their resentment, ingratitude and unearned skepticism with wisdom.
But in your great country, by and large, striving is admired and success celebrated.
This means that more people strive and succeed in the US than anywhere else. And it's increasingly obvious. You remain stunningly more innovative and productive than any people anywhere else on the planet.
And so I say, as all should who are fortunate enough to live in the western world, let alone America:
Thank God for the United States.
Thank God for the wisdom of its founders.
Thank God for its faith in the free market and in the natural rights of man.
Happy birthday, you damn Yankees and Southerners.
Long may your admirable country dominate the world.
Long may your freedom and hope provide an example to those suffering everywhere at the hands of their malevolent states.
May your two and a half centuries of unparallelled success be just the beginning.
Your country is the light of the world, and the city on the hill.
Thank God for the USA.
Happy 250th.
Dr. Jordan B. Peterson
Trump: "Haiti is a shithole country."
Dems: "That's racist!"
Trump: "We're sending the Haitians back to Haiti."
Dems: "Nooo, you can't! Haiti is a shithole country!!!"
I was listening to an expert on brainwashing, hypnotism, and algorithms talk, and one of the things he said that stuck with me is that you can get people to do just about anything under the right circumstances.
"I'd never kill someone!" Yes, you would if it were them or your daughter. "I'd never steal something!" Yes, you would if they stole from you first and you thought you could get away with it.
How do you get people to do evil things? You create an imaginary scenario where those evil deeds are justified and convince people it's real. Why do you think Democrats are always screaming that Republicans are Nazis, that there's a "trans genocide" happening, or that America is "racist" against black people? They're trying to create the conditions in people's minds that allow them to do things that would seem impermissible, radical, or even insane under normal circumstances.
It's not just the Democrats, either. It's hostile nations on social media, sociopathic influencers, and people and corporations with bad motivations of every sort. Never forget what Voltaire said: "Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities."
Remember: 2500 American men got chewed to bits by machine guns, drowned under the weight of their own gear, hung by their parachutes in French trees, and blown to jam by 88mm artillery
so some goblin bitch at the office could call you a Nazi for making the wrong joke
@RealTheoWold There was a greatest generation exhibit at my local history museum. I remember one of the quotes from someone interviewed for the exhibit was "it feel like everything in our lives was preparing us for that war"
All the hardship from the depression, etc.
I remember in middle school every one had braces. Pretty much every single one of my girl friends did. Looking back, im thinking theres no way that was necessary for all of them? What was going on pushing braces on every kid? This would've been 2009-2011ish.
I didn’t realize how bad the smut problem was in women’s circles until a woman openly posted in a military spouse group on Facebook that she loves reading smut and is looking for other women who enjoy it to be friends
The comments are filled with women who all agree and are happy to find each other
All of this publicly
Say what you want but I’ve yet to find one single man publicly declaring what kind of porn he likes, it’s socially unacceptable, it’s gross, crass, and I don’t know why women get a pass.
I hear my friends and family complain about a $25 double cheeseburger, fries and drink at Five Guys and I tell them "It's your fault it cost so much."
They look at me in disbelief.
The day everyone says "We refuse to pay that much" is the day Five Guys will become motivated to change.
As long as you agree to extortion, they will keep demanding it.
