في 20 أغسطس 1998، قصف الجيش الأمريكي بـ13 صاروخ كروز أكبر مصنع للأدوية في السودان، في وقت كانت البلاد تعاني من مجاعة.

كان المصنع ينتج أدوية لأمراض شديدة الخطورة مثل الملاريا والضنك، وكان يوفر نحو 90% من الإمدادات الطبية الحيوية التي يحتاجها سكان السودان، إضافة إلى جزء من احتياجات سكان الدول المجاورة.

بعد هذا القصف، وبدلًا من الاعتذار عن استهداف أحد أهم مصادر الإمدادات الطبية في المنطقة، رفضت الولايات المتحدة الاعتراف بالخطأ، وزعمت أن المصنع كان مرتبطًا بإنتاج أسلحة كيميائية لصالح أسامة بن لادن.

وبعد القصف، تضرر نظام الرعاية الصحية في السودان بشكل كبير، في وقت كانت البلاد تعاني أصلًا من مجاعة واسعة، ما ترك آلاف الفقراء من دون إمدادات طبية وأدى إلى تفاقم معاناتهم من الأمراض الخطيرة. وحتى بعد مرور 25 عامًا، لا تزال آثار تدمير المصنع حاضرة.

طالب السودان الولايات المتحدة بالاعتذار الرسمي عدة مرات منذ وقوع الحادثة، لكن واشنطن لم تقدم اعتذارًا رسميًا ولم تدفع تعويضات عن القصف. كما لم تفرض الأمم المتحدة عقوبات عليها، ولم تطلب المحكمة الجنائية الدولية اعتقال أي مسؤول أمريكي، ولم يفرض الاتحاد الأوروبي عقوبات اقتصادية عليها بسبب هذه الحادثة.

وبعد سنوات، اضطرت الولايات المتحدة إلى التراجع بشكل غير مباشر عن بعض إجراءاتها ضد مالك المصنع، صلاح الدين إدريس، عندما رفعت تجميد حساباته المصرفية عقب دعوى قضائية بملايين الدولارات.

هذه إحدى جرائم الإمبريالية التي لا تحظى بالتغطية الكافية في وسائل الإعلام غير المستقلة.

التتبع انتهى في مستودع أمازون LAS8 بلاس فيغاس، تحديدًا قسم VGT3 (شعاره ديناصور يحمل كتاب).

العمال يقولون:
نستلم الشحنات … نقطع الأغلفة لتسريع المسح، ثم نرمي الكتب.

أمازون أكدت شراء الكتب (عبر قنوات تجارية) لتطوير منتجاتها، دون توضيح سبب التدمير أو الحجم.

هذا يكشف أننا فعلاً دخلنا مرحلة فقر البيانات الخام ذات القيمة بعدما تم استنزاف الإنترنت.

الكتب القديمة توفر نص (نظيف) خالي من محتوى مُولَّد بالذكاء الاصطناعي، لكن الثمن هو إخراج نسخ قد تكون نادرة من التداول العام.
