Met Éireann's Forecast Team were delighted to host our colleagues from the Irish Coastguard today.

They rebroadcast our Sea Area Forecasts and Gale Warnings to seafarers as well as using Search and Rescue forecasts prepared by our Aviation Forecasters.

This is a tweet about the humble lifejacket whistle, last Sunday evening a Kayaker got into difficulty his lifejacket whistle was heard by a person ashore who dialed 999/112 and asked for the Coast Guard. Our Sligo based Coast Guard Helicopter located the kayaker and rescued him

Irish Coast Guard rescue 15 people swept out to sea in Donegal.

Rescue 118, has airlifted 10 people to hospital in Letterkenny after 15 People got into difficulty while swimming from Magheroarty pier this afternoon.

All 15 casualties were successfully rescued.
