Originally from Burnaby, recently living in Maple Ridge, and now Langley. Try to keep informed on issues that affect us in BC, especially the Lower Mainland.
When I had a caregiver client in Riverview, there were people from Colony Farm Forensic in locked down wards of Riverview. Like a 2nd stage release for the dangerous cases. Now they are in a "supervised" house, free to go wherever. Totally unacceptable, especially in this case.
“As a father, I can’t even start to get my head wrapped around this. This is clearly a deranged, sick, sick, sick individual. And like it or not, there are some people in our society who can not and should not be free to be out and about, and Allan Schoenborn is one of those people. There is nothing, not one thing, which suggests that this is someone who should be granted more freedom,” says Mayor Brad West

@AdamZivo You hit the nail on the head. After Saturday's results, I realized that the Conservative membership is split, and that KLF may not be able to bring in the outlying centrists. When I saw Brad West's post I thought that Conservatives would be in big trouble if he led the NDP.
Surrey police are investigating after Freedom Party of BC leader Amrit Birring posted a video on social media showing himself and two others, including a senior man wearing what appears to be a military veterans hat, spraying black paint over a rainbow crosswalk at Holland Park on Saturday
Thoughts? 💭
Just listened to Angelo Isidorou on Political Capital - here's where the candidates did well in round 1:

The New Westminster Times would like to add further context to the below report.
The NWT directly observed Krishna in a small group of people near the media camera platforms engaged in a confrontation with security. She appeared combative & uncooperative, whereupon police were radioed to have her forcibly removed. The NWT also observed Krishna extending a microphone toward security and also saw her bat a piece of equipment held by police or security to the floor. Before posting the below video, the NWT asked someone beside Krishna during the confrontation why she was removed & was told that Krishna was inebriated. Intoxication was later confirmed by another source as well.
Krishna’s combative behaviour was consistent with intoxication in the opinion of the NWT. It was evident that the bar at the event was very busy, suggesting overconsumption was certainly plausible. The NWT was also told Krishna pushed a police officer, also consistent with someone who may have been intoxicated.
However, further information has come to light indicating that Krishna was filming herself near the Global News TV set desk in a manner that could have been perceived to be intentionally disruptive to Global News.
Krishna was not wearing a media pass. Other media on site were instructed not to engage in “roaming videotaping” but rather to film from designated areas or from the sides.
In light of the above, it appears that although intoxication may have been a factor that led to Krishna’s ejection from the premises, the initial reason for her engagement with security arose over her onsite interactions with Global News.
The NWT later asked the head of security why Krishna had been removed and he declined to comment.
The NWT has reached out to the Conservative Party of B.C. for comment but has not yet heard back.
This is an evolving story.
@MadAboutPaper@NateWeber13@Prominent_Bryan I think Sacha said 25,695 voted. At least thats what I wrote down. There are 9211 points available, so the winner needs at least 4606 points.
@iamrobinskies Ulterior motive? Like garnering attention to get more views and followers perhaps? They adamantly complain about cheating and voter fraud, yet when security is in place they complain about that too. Seems pretty disingenuous.
Very well written and true. If your chosen candidate doesn't win, give some time and give the winner a chance, even if they are someone you really didn't want. Take time to observe them in action and support the party toward a common goal.
The @Conservative_BC leadership race is a family tug-of-war, not a civil war.
The minute our new leader is announced, we are all on the same page.
The real contest is not between leadership candidates.
It is between an NDP government that has lost control of the basics and a Conservative team ready to restore competence, confidence, and common sense in British Columbia.

As this leadership race enters its final days, I want to say how proud and thankful I am for Team @NVanCaroline — every volunteer and supporter who has given their time, energy, and heart to this campaign.
I also want to recognize the people working on every team in this race. Campaigns take sacrifice, long hours, and belief in something bigger than yourself, and everyone who has stepped up to be part of this process deserves respect for that.
I’ve been on both the losing side and the winning side of leadership campaigns. When my side lost, I went to work for the democratically elected leader because defeating the NDP mattered more than internal divisions.
If we want to turn this province around, we need to spend less time tearing each other apart and more time building a movement capable of earning the trust of British Columbians.
The future of BC is at stake. Let’s act like it.
Another major disruption to organized crime in B.C.
RCMP Federal Policing investigators dismantled two clandestine drug labs in Abbotsford and Chilliwack, seizing approximately 40 kilograms of fentanyl, 250 kilograms of MDMA, firearms, cash and large quantities of chemicals and processing equipment.
Investigators also determined one of these operations was actively expanding — plans that were stopped by this investigation.
This is life-saving work. Every kilogram of fentanyl seized means fewer dangerous drugs reaching our communities and fewer families put at risk.
Thank you to RCMP Federal Policing, the CLEAR team, IERT, @AbbyPoliceDept, and @BCRCMP detachments across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley for this coordinated operation and their ongoing work targeting organized crime.

@HerCuriousBooks@MikeSmythNews I've always thought that Mike Smyth was right wing leaning. So, if she wins, does that mean she will never talk to regular media? That's definitely a problem.
"It is entirely normal for the person being investigated to learn about the file from the media before getting formal notice from the Commissioner’s office, which is exactly what Ms. Findlay has publicly said happened in her situation."
