Raising the bar for Quality-Assured HIV & Syphilis Testing

NACO, in collaboration with @NABL_QCI launches the Integrated Quality Assurance Scheme (I-QAS) to strengthen quality and technical competency across ICTCs, PPTCTs, DSRCs and equivalent facilities under NACP.

Aligned with defined national and international requirements, the scheme provides external recognition of laboratory quality and competency, promoting standardised quality practices and greater confidence in HIV & Syphilis testing results.

I-QAS marks another step towards NACO’s vision of quality-assured, reliable and equitable diagnostic services.

Hear from Dr. Sandeep Chhabra, Civil Surgeon & Nodal officer on how Panchkula in Haryana ( @haryana_sacs ) became the first district to attain Surakshit status.

Through early diagnosis, ART linkage, treatment adherence, regular follow-ups and viral load monitoring, teams across the district worked towards achieving the 95-95-95 targets & are now strongly gearing up for the next goal of Surakshit Plus.

Dhule district of Maharashtra has achieved Surakshit status.

School-level outreach for HIV awareness continues across India under the Intensified IEC Campaign 3.0, with State AIDS Control Societies engaging students through interactive sessions.

Students are being equipped with essential knowledge about HIV/AIDS, drug abuse and adolescent health, helping them understand the difference between risky behaviours and responsible choices.

Integrating Mental Health into HIV care

A consultation on “Integration of Mental Health Services with ART Services under NACP”, chaired by Dr. Rakesh Gupta, AS, @MoHFW_INDIA & DG, NACO was held today at India International Centre, New Delhi.

Highlighting that “the last mile may be behavioural rather than biomedical,” Dr Gupta called for simple, feasible and scalable convergence between NACP & NMHP to address behavioural and psychosocial factors affecting testing, linkage, adherence and retention.

The consultation brought together senior officers from NACO & NHMP, State Programme Officers of NMHP & SACS, subject experts from @NIMHANS_BLR , @delhiihbas, @aiims_newdelhi, @ICMRDELHI & @DirectorLHMC and representatives from @WHO, @CDCgov, @UNAIDS, @AllianceinIndia, @Jhpiego, @fhi360 , @SAATHII & @HLFPPT, along with officials from ART Centres, private hospitals and communities.

Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu achieves #Surakshit status!

Village-Level Sensitisation | Nagaland

The Intensified IEC Campaign 3.0 in Nagaland continues to take HIV and STI awareness to the grassroots.

Through 119 village-level sensitisation meetings across 16 districts, the Intensified IEC Campaign 3.0 in Nagaland reached 3,186 people this week, opening up conversations around HIV and STI awareness.
