There are so many horrific videos coming out of Syria right now showing the new Syrian ruling rebels committing atrocities against minorities across Syria that are simply so shocking and abhorrent that I can’t even share them. And yet the world leaders are falling over themselves to legitimize these people. Assad was one of the most evil people alive. But make no mistake, the new regime is no better and in many cases far worse.

And yet from the media and UN it’s just silence.

Gaza is not "starving." Jack Lew, the US ambassador to Israel, came out last week and said these narratives are false and that Israel has facilitated the distribution of humanitarian aid into Gaza (which is something they aren't even obligated to do.)

I just read over the list of 1000+ authors who joined Sally Rooney in boycotting Jews, and I am so sorely disappointed to see names I admired on there. But one baffled me. Claire Dederer, whose book Monsters I read in 2023; a thesis dedicated to untangling the question of whether or not we can still enjoy the art of problematic men. She wrote hundreds of pages justifying why she can still watch Rosemary's Baby, but when it comes to Jews she is prepared to immediately boycott all of us from making art because Israel. Quite amazing.
