If someone made this exact same statement -- but replaced "Muslim" with "Jew" -- their career would not only be instantly and permanently destroyed, but their families, banks, communities and employers would be relentlessly hounded until they were denounced, disowned and banned.

@glitch_fc_yt @BusInsiderSSA These rules are pretty standard in most countries. You cannot just go to any country and decide to pitch up and get a job. Forst thing they ask is if you have a visa or PR that allows you to work.

Its not as common in 3rd world countries or just not enforced as heavily.

It's not just Gaza, Iran and Lebanon.

In the West Bank since October 2023, Israeli soldiers and settlers have:

Killed 1,071 Palestinians
Demolished 6,000+ homes
Built 200+ illegal outposts

No more U.S. military aid to Israel.

🇨🇺🇨🇳 “We firmly believe that with our joint efforts no blockade can extinguish the light of hope.”

China has delivered 30,000 tons of rice to Cuba, stepping up in defiance of the decades-long US blockade that has heavily restricted the Caribbean island’s trade and international relations. As Washington continues to isolate the tiny country, the socialist projects of Cuba and China are standing together in solidarity.

[Trita Parsi @tparsi]

WOW!!!

Never thought we would hear this level of honesty from a Western leader, and certainly not Canada, given the direction of Canada in the past 25 years. Canada's shift towards multialignment is quite clear - and this level of honesty from Carney on Western "fiction" about the old order will be warmly welcomed in much of the Global South:

"We knew that the story about the rules-based order was partially false... We knew that international law applied with varying rigour depending on the identity of the accused and the victim. This fiction was useful [because of the goods provided by American hegemony]... So we placed the sign in the window. We participated in the rituals. And we largely avoided calling out the gaps between rhetoric and reality. This bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition... You cannot live within the lie of mutual benefit through integration when integration becomes the source of your subordination."

It is true @USEmbassySA, Iran’s is a brutal regime and SA should offer no hint of support. But tell me, when US law enforcement agents are shooting young mothers in the face, three times, at point blank range, how do you-the US- distinguish yourself as not a “brutal regime”?
