New HLSP: Complete FUV spectroscopic atlas of young star clusters in the CLUES survey. Check out the numerous stellar and interstellar medium features in the HST COS spectra, providing unique information about the massive star census and their feedback. https://t.co/tHKiwUfair
Now @MSirressi presents new jupyter notebooks to illustratively and simply reduce spectroscopic data, developed for the Stockholm University observing school #NOTfuture2022
Also show-casing excellent meme-skills highlighting the upgrade from previous schools ๐
Next Sunday I will fly back to Boston. Where is my baggage @AirCanada? Calling you is unhelpful. Should I come in person to the airport and find the baggage? Is it still in Boston? I need to know, I need my things!!
FOUR days after my flight to Montreal with @AirCanada, I'm still waiting for my delayed cabin baggage (reported). All my clothes and more are in there.
Not only, the Central Baggage Office is not even able to confirm that my baggage is in Montreal Airport (YUL).
How is this ok?
Check out my two interactive posters for the EAS Meeting 2021. The 1st is about CLUES, a program designed to probe the feedback of young star clusters. The 2nd is a spin-off project where we do a similar study with Haro 11, an analogue of primordial galaxies. (see links below)
"We are the first generation to feel the effects of climate change and the last generation to be able to stop it". Barack Obama
Let's address the problem!
Happy #EarthDay2021
Calling all astronomers, including educators and students: please sign our Open Letter! https://t.co/USXWM89vsN
Help us show our institutions and societies that we care about the #ClimateCrisis and must act on it together #Astro4Earth
First co-author paper with the Galaxies group at Stockholm.
We publish about the leakage of ionizing photons from the starburst galaxy Haro 11.

Currently investigating gas outflows and feedback from young stars! Stay tuned for my 1st PhD paper...
@petrini_linda Data reduction is something you have to do to process the raw images taken with a telescope. The students will use my jupyter notebooks to do so. They will first take the images by connecting remotely to the observatory. So no trip to La Palma for them, nor for me unfortunately!
Stockholm University offers master students to carry on observations with the Nordic Optical Telescope in Canary Islands.
During the past 4 months I developed python-based pedagogic tools for the reduction of spectroscopic data.
Looking forward to get feedback next April!
Happy to be co-author of this new paper.
StarcNet is a Machine Learning method to classify star clusters in images of nearby galaxies.
A job that takes weeks or months of experts time can now be done in a few minutes!
Today I gave an outreach talk, part of a series organized by @Astronomisk_Ung and @Stockholm_Uni. I hope that young students got inspired by the beautiful images and discoveries @HubbleTelescope made in 30 years.
I was also very lucky to visit the old observatory in Sthlm!
After the success of Muse, @ESO is now building a new instrument, its cousin #bluemuse ๐๐ฌ๐
It was very interesting to attend the 2-day online workshop and listen about all the exciting science that astronomer are planning to do with it!
Black holes gravitational attraction is so strong that I could not resist going for a master in Astrophysics after my bachelor project on SMBHs
Congrats and thanks to the winners for paving the way to such a hot science
Also very happy for the first woman astronomer NP laureate
BREAKING NEWS:
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2020 #NobelPrize in Physics with one half to Roger Penrose and the other half jointly to Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez.
Opening the e-mail this morning made me so happy: my first research grant application has been successful!
Thanks to the Dep. of Astronomy @Stockholm_Uni for using the Dahlmark donation to support young researchers.
@thoeger Such a painful video... But restaurants are not the only buyers! Doesn't the larger demand at supermarkets compensate?? All of us is still eating after all...
Happy birthday, #Hubble! ๐
Launched 30 years ago today, the NASA/ESA @Hubble_space Telescope has revolutionised astronomy. Catch up on #Hubble's colourful history. See https://t.co/NHixvebk5n
Stay with us for a full day of #Hubble30 celebrations.
1/ I took this picture of @ESOโs UT4 telescope back in January. You may have read that we use lasers to correct atmospheric turbulence, but how does this work exactly? And why do we need several lasers rather than just one? Thread!
Completed my first fully-online workshop: The James Webb Space Telescope (@ESA_Webb) Masterclass. 5 days of hands-on exercises to learn how to use this machinery that will look further away into space and back into time than ever.
Thanks to staff @Stockholm_Uni and experts @esa.
