🌳 International Day of Forests 🌿
Manipur’s forests are more than just green landscapes—they are living treasures of biodiversity, culture, and sustenance. From the dense tropical forests of the hills to the unique ecosystems surrounding Loktak Lake, the state is home to rare and endemic species that define its natural heritage.
These forests shelter remarkable wildlife, including the iconic Sangai, found only in Manipur, symbolising the deep connection between nature and identity. Rich in medicinal plants, indigenous flora, and vibrant fauna, Manipur’s forests support livelihoods while preserving ecological balance.
On this International Day of Forests, let us reaffirm our commitment to protect, conserve, and sustainably manage these invaluable natural resources for future generations. 🌏
Protect forests, preserve life. 🌱
