Every time I look up at the Moon now, even the one at Space Center Houston, it feels different.
It’s no longer just a distant light in the night sky — it’s a place I’ve studied up close with my own eyes. I find myself tracing its features, recognizing the shadows, the craters, the quiet stories written across its surface.
The Moon hasn’t changed, but now when I observe it, it comes back to life in my mind with a new and treasured perspective.
Otherworldly… the Earth setting behind the Moon during the Artemis II mission - captured with an everyday smartphone. Makes it feel so much more ‘human’ and closer to home.
Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

The @NASAArtemis II crew is so inspirational. A worthwhile hour of watching in classrooms and living rooms. I hope history finds this mission pivotal in leading change for the 🌎 We all are one crew despite diverse perspectives & cultures. https://t.co/46jRg3cdwy
I am so inspired by these people.
They embody what we are capable of when we:
- give ourselves near-impossible goals
- work for decades to change who we are
- are willing to take enormous risks together
- celebrate the magnificence of shared life.
Well done @NASAArtemis team!

Feeling lots of @NASA pride on this social platform, thank you @NASAArtemis 🌕 A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, since I have been hooked on a feeling like this 😉 Loving it! The Moon to Mars era is here, let’s build a @NASAMoonBase 🇺🇸 Welcome 🌎 Artemis II 🚀
LIVE: They are coming home.
Watch as the Artemis II crew returns to Earth, splashing down at around 8:07pm ET (0007 UTC April 11). https://t.co/n3vZE2rcFv
Moon joy [noun]
the feeling of intense happiness and excitement that only comes from a mission to the Moon
The Artemis II crew bring us endless Moon joy.
I'm pleased to reveal my highest resolution photo of the complete SLS in flight, captured entirely using sound-activated triggers from cameras placed near the pad. Thanks to the technique used the image is ~300 megapixels!
A ridiculously hard shot to get, but worth the effort.
@NASA has just released some EXTRAORDINARY tracking footage from Artemis II's launch just one week ago.
Mesmerizing exhaust flow interaction between all four RS-25's & twin SRB's.
“You can see the surface of the Moon…we just went sci-fi.”
On flight day seven, images from our @NASAArtemis II crew amazed, turning science fiction to reality. From the lunar far side to a solar eclipse from the Moon, the views are EVERYTHING. No pressure to pick a favorite.
Hello, Moon. It’s great to be back.
Here’s a taste of what the Artemis II astronauts photographed during their flight around the Moon. Check out more photos from the mission: https://t.co/rzM1P0QbOl

(HEADPHONE WARNING)
Come take a seat inside the gates of Launch Complex 39B to watch & listen as SLS and her crew of four take to the skies, destined for the moon on the Artemis II mission.
Lots to break down in the audio - from the HPU's chuffing away, the ROFI's popping, and the poor microphone taking the acoustic brunt of four RS-25 engines and a pair of five-segment solid rocket boosters.
Come check it!

Liftoff.
The Artemis II mission launched from @NASAKennedy at 6:35pm ET (2235 UTC), propelling four astronauts on a journey around the Moon.
Artemis II will pave the way for future Moon landings, as well as the next giant leap — astronauts on Mars.
