As a member of the Somali Bantu community, I am encouraged by the meeting between Acting UN Special Representative James Swan and our community in Mogadishu today. It is crucial that our voices, and those of other underrepresented groups in Somalia, are included in discussions about the national electoral framework and public affairs. For too long, our contributions and perspectives have been overlooked, yet we are an integral part of this nation's fabric. This engagement is a step toward ensuring that all Somalis, regardless of their background, have a say in the future of our country. True progress can only be achieved when every community has a seat at the table, and I hope this meeting will lead to meaningful change and greater inclusion for the Somali Bantu community.
