Another desperate appeal to reunite Sudanese Canadian families with immediate family members who remain displaced and face unbearable suffering as a result of unnecessary processing delays by @CitImmCanada three years on. @MarkJCarney@LenaMetlegeDiab we are Canadian citizens who are failed by your government as a result of unfair, bureaucratic and arbitrary immigration policy.

Another year and another birthday for my sister where she remains stranded in a deadly war zone in Sudan with no prospect of being reunited with our 94 year old Canadian mom despite our repeated appeals to the Canadian government to intervene on humanitarian and compassionate grounds. @MarkJCarney@LenaMetlegeDiab my sister Kholoud is the daughter, sister and aunt of Canadian citizens who are fully committed to supporting her emotionally and financially should she ever reach safety here in Canada. Once again I appeal for your direct intervention given the distressing circumstances we face as a Sudanese Canadian family.

On this day three years ago war broke out in Sudan devastating the lives of millions of innocent Sudanese civilians creating one of the largest displacement in recent history. Amongst those displaced is my own sister Kholoud and her family who fled from city to city for many months but remain stranded in Sudan with very little hope of reaching safety. I appealed to the Canadian government within days of the war starting to evacuate Kholoud and her family on humanitarian grounds given she is the daughter, sister and aunt of Canadian citizens. Despite our repeated appeals to reunited our sister with our 94 year old Canadian mum who is desperate to see Kholoud and make sure she is safe.
Today I want to make another desperate appeal to our prime minster @MarkJCarney & the immigration minister @LenaMetlegeDiab to look at our appeal with a humanitarian lens given the significant risk to Kholoud’s life as a Darfuri woman and the devastating impact on my mum’s deteriorating health to bring my sister home to Canada. Our family continues to suffer the dire consequences of this war in particular our elderly mum who cannot understand why there is delay despite our full commitment to support Kholoud and her family emotionally and financially should they ever reach Canada.

Another heartbreaking news that a Sudanese Canadian family lost their dad while waiting to be reunited under the so called ‘Humanitarian Family Reunification Pathway’ waiting for months to process their immigration application. @LenaMetlegeDiab how many of our family members must die before you take action and expedite applications of such desperate Canadian families?

Had a conversation with the PM on key community priorities, including the Sudanese families waiting to be reunited with their loved ones in 🇨🇦, and UAE investment opportunities and implications. Grateful for his understanding & willingness to consider the recommendations shared.
Thank you @SalmaZahid15 for spotlighting the suffering of Sudanese Canadian families like mine who are desperate to bring immediate family members to safety in Canada from the horrific war in Sudan.
I know that my own sister, Kholoud, remains at significant risk to her life in Sudan as a result of these delays by @CitImmCanada despite being the daughter, sister and aunt of Canadian citizens. She is ethnically Darfuri where genocide is committed daily against individuals like her.

Thank you @MichaelaCoel for spotlighting the horrific war in Sudan resulting in the largest humanitarian disaster in recent history. Your appearance at the Toronto film festival wearing the traditional Sudanese dress is a remarkable touch to stand in solidarity with the millions of innocent Sudanese civilians facing starvation and death while the international community watches in complete silence. We salute you 💕💕💕💕

Over 90% of Sudanese Canadian families who applied over a year ago to sponsor immediate family members are still waiting for their applications to be processed under the Sudan Crisis Family Reunification pathway.
Stark facts
(1) Many have lost their lives while waiting and many continue to wait despite the significant risk to their lives.
(2) No biometric centre in Sudan despite repeated promises by IRCC to establish one.
(3) No transparency of processing timelines provided to applicants
@LenaMetlegeDiab & @MarkJCarney we are CANADIAN CITIZENS who deserve fairer & dignified treatment given the significant financial & emotional commitment we have made to sponsor our immediate family members who face significant risk to their lives.

Sudanese-Canadian families are still facing lengthy waits as they try to get their relatives out of Sudan's war zone, despite Canadian government promises.
Another appeal to @MarkJCarney & @RachelBendayan to expedite @IRCC immigration applications processing under the Sudan Crisis Family Reunification Pathway as our immediate family members face significant risk to their lives due to these delays and the deteriorating war situation in Sudan. My sister Kholoud and her family are among those affected in Port Sudan. She is the daughter, sister and aunt of Canadian citizens who have fully committed to sponsor her financially and support her emotionally yet she remains in a deadly war zone.

Thank you @CBCTorontoNews and @idilmussa for giving me the opportunity as a Sudanese Canadian to speak out and show my deep frustration with @CitImmCanada inefficiency and bureaucracy processing immigration applications under the Sudan crisis Family Reunification pathway.
Kholoud is the daughter, sister and aunt of Canadian citizens yet she remains stranded in a deadly war zone with significant risk to her life as a Darfuri woman despite my substantial financial commitment to sponsor her.

As the war continues to rage in Sudan and on the second anniversary, SCCA appeals to the Canadian Government to end the suffering of Sudanese already in Canada by expediating processing of their prolonged immigration applications. Many of these applicants face unbearable suffering as they remain separated from their spouses and children until their immigration status has been settled.

As the second anniversary of the outbreak of the horrendous war in Sudan approaches, I want to appeal to @MarkJCarney & @RachelBendayan to urgently address the significant processing delays by @CitImmCanada of the family reunification pathway for Sudanese/Canadian families like mine desperate to bring loved ones to safety in Canada. We have made substantial financial commitment yet many immediate family members face significant risk to their lives while waiting for decisions.
