Big News: Another Cricket Legend, Brian Lara speaks up for our Legend Imran Khan!
"It's basic humanity for a legend of our game"
Brian Lara joins the list of former international cricket captains seeking medical care for Imran Khan!
A state is nothing without its citizens. Borders, flags, constitutions, institutions, armies and buildings do not make a state meaningful. People do. A state exists because people live in it, contribute to it, protect it and give it legitimacy.
If the people are hungry, frightened, voiceless and miserable, then the state has failed its most basic purpose.
We have somehow inverted the entire idea of the state. We are taught to treat the state as sacred while treating the people who collectively constitute that state as expendable.
How can you claim to respect the state while millions of its citizens are denied dignity, justice and a meaningful voice? How can the state be considered more sacred than the people who give it existence?
And perhaps the most dangerous question of all: How can the fate of millions be decided according to the will of one man? No individual is the state. No institution is the state. No uniform is the state. No political party is the state. The people are the state.
Governments change. Generals retire. Politicians disappear. Institutions evolve. But the people remain. The legitimacy of a state does not come from the fear it can impose on its citizens. It comes from the trust and consent it earns from them.
A strong state is not one that can silence its people. A strong state is one in which people do not need to be silenced in the first place.
When the state forgets that it exists for the people, it eventually begins demanding loyalty from the very people whose loyalty it has failed to earn. And that is when a state stops being a home for its citizens and becomes merely a power structure ruling over them. #عمران_خان_کیلئے_ڈٹ_جاؤ

It took less than a week for the entire government, media, and social media to forget about PIMS and move on to other “important” things.
Forget state collapse, what we are witnessing is something far more dangerous: desensitization to a point of moral and intellectual collapse.
This is the lowest of the lowest it gets.
we’ve normalized everything about IK to the point that another Tuesday went by without a meeting wd his sisters and nobody noticed or talked about it.
If you are an IK supporter, talk about him, his health/treatment his solitary confinement. This is the least we can do for him.
Imran Khan is suffering in a death cell. He suffers from hypertension, headaches, vision loss, and things that we might not even know about because he's being kept in isolation.
This is quite a statement from The Times on Imran Khan..
“The conduct by Pakistan in this matter is indefensible. Mr Khan is clearly the subject of extreme political persecution, now threatening his life. The British government must protest in the strongest terms.”
It’s a genuinely heartbreaking story to read detailing some of the appalling conditions he is ‘living’ in.
When even The Times is putting it this bluntly this is impossible to ignore. Shout it louder for the people at the back!

There is more outrage over the collapse of the cricket team than over the collapse of the entire country.
What kind of desensitization makes us believe that cricket can somehow thrive while the country around it is collapsing?
Pakistan’s government is defying its own Supreme Court and keeping Imran Khan behind bars on politically motivated charges.
After years of imprisonment, prolonged isolation, and growing concerns about his health, Khan was ordered by Pakistan’s Supreme Court to receive independent medical treatment with access to his personal physician. Instead, authorities returned him to prison without carrying out the ordered care.
But this goes beyond medical treatment. Imran Khan should not be imprisoned in the first place.
Amnesty International has called his imprisonment “unlawful and politically motivated,” and the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention has called for his immediate release.
Pakistan must respect the rule of law, end his isolation, allow independent medical care, and FREE IMRAN KHAN.
My sister, Dr Uzma Khan, filed a petition before the Supreme Court on the 6th of May 2026 through Uzair Karamat Bhandari, ASC, for Imran Khan’s examination and treatment in the presence of his personal doctors and family members.
On 18th August, a three-member Supreme Court bench ordered the government to shift Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital within 2 days. The government blatantly violated the order.
The government did not shift Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital. All the other aspects of the order have also been disobeyed.
The Supreme Court had also ordered:
1.Constitution of a medical board in consultation and coordination with the management of Shifa International Hospital
2.Dr Faisal Sultan, Imran Khan’s personal physician, to be associated with the medical examination and treatment
3.Imran Khan be allowed to speak to his sons twice a week
4.Imran Khan be allowed to meet with his family once a week.
All the above reliefs were in accordance with the Constitution, Prison Rules and earlier orders/precedents.
NONE of the above directions have been complied with. The only limited access granted to the family has been to my sister, Noreen Niazi, who was allowed to meet Imran Khan on each of the previous two Tuesdays. Inexplicably, before meeting Imran Khan she was made to sign an affidavit undertaking that she will not speak to the press after the meeting.
In view of the gross and deliberate violation of the order, Dr Uzma Khan filed a petition for contempt of court. Despite the fact that our lawyer, Uzair Bhandari, filed two applications, early fixation and hearing of the contempt petition has not been granted and it has been fixed on 16th September.
The Constitution and the law require proper check up and treatment for Imran Khan and an END to his torture through isolation and solitary confinement!! This is what the Supreme Court order required. The demand that this be done is not extraordinary: these are Imran Khan’s fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution. If the government has no respect for the Constitution and the decisions of the Supreme Court, and can simply disregard its orders, what other forum is left for us?
Members of the Pakistani diaspora who are critical of Pakistan’s government are advised by their lawyers to never travel on their NICOPs and instead travel on their passports with a Pakistani visa. This is to ensure that they are able to access consular services and protection of their country of citizenship more readily if the Pakistani authorities target them.
Given how ruthless the Pakistani government/military is, Sulaiman and Kasim are wise not to visit Pakistan on their NICOPs.
Also, given that their NICOP numbers are being partially shared by the defense minister on social media doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence
There is never a wrong time to support SKMCH.
But maybe now more than ever.
Imran Khan’s vision of compassion - especially for the poor - still heals millions every day, even from behind bars.
