An army bomb disposal unit has got stuck in mud on Mappleton beach. Rescue vehicle has just arrived to try to pull it out. Army were dealing with munitions from old RAF range nearby @looknorthBBC

The first BD Flight to embark for the beaches of Normandy on D Day +1 04.00 hrs, 6225 Flt encountered ememy action when landing craft No 390 was shelled and sank by Shore Batteries and an E Boat at the port of Le Havre. 7 men were killed, 6 hospitalised and 1 POW #LestWeForget
